More On Vision

Imagine if John the Baptist came of age during the 1960s counter culture, the charisma of Jim Morrison flowing from the mantle of an Old Testament prophet. Meet Lonnie Frisbee, a seeker turned Jesus freak evangelist who compelled thousands towards a profession of Christian faith. It was during a trip into a canyon that Frisbee claimed that God gave him a vision of his future as an influential evangelist to the hippie generation.
So many of us trace our Christian roots to this man. The power of God flowed when he preached. He walked in supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit. Everywhere that he went there were 'divine~appointments' that always resulted in salvation or healing of others.
Brant Baker and Lonnie Frisbee were close friends. Lonnie had introduced me to Brant at his 'Costa Mesa' clothing store. Both men had an impact upon their generation. Both men have gone to be with the Lord.
Today it is us who are still walking this earth.
You who were there when these men ministered, what is your 'vision' today? Vision being a clear conception of something that is not yet reality, but which can exist.
How do you answer this question? Your vision uniquely belongs to you as a person called of God. As you pray, it will become clear to you.
You have a passion for God and His ways. You want to see your vision become reality.
Ephesians 3:20
20Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
According to His power that is at work. Working within you. That power is the mighty power of God's Spirit who lives inside of you, enabling you to fulfill the vision He has given to you. God's power is actually working within you for the fulfillment of your dream.
Exceeeeedingly abundant!
Beyond all that you could ask for, think about, or imagine. You can't grasp all that He wants to do for you. It is and will always be steps ahead of you.
Your potential is determined by the assignment God gave you to do. Whatever you were born to do, you are equipped to do. God gives you the ability to fulfill your responsibility.
God does not call qualified men. He makes men qualified whom He calls.
Faith is vision in the heart. Sight without vision is dangerous because it has no hope. God gave us vision so that we would not have to live by what we see.
Vision is so powerful it can live beyond the grave. Lonnie Frisbee and Brant Baker have spiritual children born of their vision in God who are alive today. Children who know God and know of His power.
Children who have struggled with their vision in God for years. Satan has tried and tried to convince them that it was all just a foolish dream. It was not.
That flame flickering inside is the vision. That vision that can and will inflame future generations for Christ...

Vision

Proverbs 29:18

18Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

In the mid twentieth century, in Bangkok, Thailand, the government wanted to build a large highway through a village. Yet in thepath of the planned road was a buddhist monastery with a little chapel, so they had to relocate the monastery, including a heavy, eleven foot clay statue of Buddha, to another place. Using a crane, the government workers moved the monastery in sections. When the workers transported the statue of Budda to the new location and began to lower it into place, however, the clay on the statue started to crumble and fall off. The people were afraid because this was a precious religious symbol to them, and they didn't want it to be destroyed. Yet the more the workers tried to place the statue, the more it fell apart until, eventually, all the clay was falling off. Suddenly, the workers stared in amazement because, as the clay fell away, something unexpected was revealed; The statue was pure gold underneath. Before the statue was moved, people thought it was worth about fifty thousand dollars. Today, that golden Buddha is worth millions and, because of the story behind it, is visited by hundreds of thousands of people every year.

This story illustrates that what we can see is not necessarily what really is. I believe that many of us are living as clay vessels when, in reality, we are pure gold inside. Our lives do not reflect who we truly are or what we can be.

A lack of purpose and unfulfilled potential in our world. Yet just as the gold statue was hidden inside the clay one, the "gold" inside each of us is waiting to be revealed. This gold is the dreams we have- or once had- for our lives that are not yet reality, the gifts and talents that we have not yet developed, the purpose for our lives that is not yet fulfilled, the "something" we've always wanted to be or do but for some reason have not been able to accomplish.

You have a personal purpose, for every human being is born with one. God created each person with a unique vision. He has tremendous plans for you that no one else can accomplish. The tragic thing is that many people live their whole lives without ever recognizing their visions.

How do you remove the clay and uncover the gold within you? Your dreams, talents. and desires can be refined in a process of discovering and fulfilling your life's vision so that the pure gold of your unique and personal gifts to this world can shine forth.

The destiny of an acorn is a tree. By faith, you can see the tree within the seed. You have a vision of it in your mind's eye because you know the potential in the seed. The same thing is true of you and me.God has given us birth for a purpose, and as far as God is concerned, that purpose is already finished because He has placed within us the potential for fulfilling it. We can see that purpose through faith.

For true visionary's, the imaginary world of their visions is more real to them than the concrete reality around them. In fact, a visionary's vision is his reality.
When you have no vision you will simply relive the past with it's disappointments and failures. Therefore, vision is the key to your future.

One of the awesome things about Shekinah Fellowship during Brant Baker's watch was you left the meetings with vision. Somehow Brant was able to inspire others to draw close to Jesus and to receive more from Him then what they came to the meeting with.

John 10:10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Satan seeks to rob us of our vision. God seeks to install a vision in us.
Don't let Satan rob you of your vision!

Revelation 2:25But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

Hebrews 10:23Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

Living life aimlessly is not God's best. To hold true to a vision is. The vision energizes us in the Holy Spirit. The vision causes the clay to drop off and the gold to be revealed in all of it's beauty. To exercise faith and to lay hold of the promise of God is life.

Most people fail because they give up their vision the first time they fall down. People stop too soon. they don't win because they give up when they fall down the first time or the next time or the next. A person of passion is is always eager to fulfill their vision. Passion is willing to pay the price.

When you capture your vision and stay with it, you will be rewarded. Defy the odds. If you become passionate about your vision, you can defy the odds and persevere to the fulfillment of your goals. whenever you are tempted to quit too soon or stay down when life knocks you over, remember the examples of Nehemiah and apostle Paul. Capture your vision and stay with it, and you will be rewarded with seeing that vision become reality, no matter what might try to come against it.

Nonetheless, I do want to give credit to Surfer51 for doing the difficult work of preserving the historical record about Shekinah Fellowship, which otherwise would have been airbrushed away. And believe me, there are plenty of people who would like very much to blot out the story altogether, for they have never been able to reconcile themselves to the fact that God often uses flawed and imperfect people to accomplish marvelous things.

Pastor Floyd

On February 7 of 1975, at the age of 46, I was restored, to my place in Yehovaw's kingdom, through the ministry of Brant Baker's Shekinah Fellowship, in Long Beach, Southern California!
The Rev. Brant Baker was an astounding healing minister, at that time, which got my attention by his healing my back of severe pain and my heart of severe sin in the name of "Jesus Christ", the English translation of the Hebrew "Yeshuaw ha Mawshiyakh"!
http://www.powerfulachievement.com/vault/pages/pastor.htm

I used to go to the Fox on Friday nights through 1975 and 1977 or so. I really didn't know Long Beach as it was a very un-familiar and far away place to me at 12 years old. We were there for Rev. Brant Bakers Shekinah Fellowship. Believe it or not, I really enjoyed those nights out there even though I resented my parents for making me attand a religious function or "church." Who would have figured that I now live in Long Beach and drive by the old location almost daily. Well, I learned alot from Brant Baker and his Shekinah Fellowship.

The Bishop

...Brant Baker was having healing meetings on Saturday nights at Pastor Billy Adams' First Foursquare Church in Long Beach. His flyers were tacked up on telephone and power poles advertising "In Person GOD" and God the Holy Spirit did show up regularly, healing people of all manner of sickness and disease. With an anointing similar to Kathryn Kuhlman's, Brant and his Shekinah Fellowship acquired the old West Coast Theater across the street from the Convention Center on Ocean Boulevard. We eventually opened the East Long Beach Street Mission, a drop-in place where you could watch those early broadcasts of TBN, have some free coffee and donuts, and hit Anaheim Street or PCH with some gospel tracts that we printed right there.

Bishop David C Holdridge

His Name is as Ointment

...The ministry was called Shekinah Fellowship. There were probably close to 100 of us who traveled as lay ministers throughout the Southwest to wherever we were invited, holding huge miracle and healing services. It was intense and a real partnership with the Holy Spirit. The faith healer himself was Brant Baker, a personal friend of ours, and a man undeniably under the anointing of God. The services were often televised with no attempt to hide the signs and wonders which were being manifested continually. We saw incredible miracles of healing every week and the ministry got a real boost when Paul & Jan Crouch of TBN began supporting it. In its heyday there was nothing like it, and I've shared some of the things in my forthcoming book showing how God used and blessed us; gay and straight together. When it got to a place where it no longer could be denied that Brant and many of us in the ministry were gay, the spotlight on us was quickly turned off and we were dropped like a hot potato to a point where Brant's once household name was never allowed to be mentioned over the TBN airwaves again.

In time, due to a series of unfortunate events, the ministry dwindled to nothing. Brant died of AIDS. So did his brother. So did David, and Jerry, and so many others. All of us knew in our hearts that this was a one-time shot for us, that we'd never walk in the anointed miracle power of the Holy Spirit in the same way again in our lifetimes. We'd go in our separate directions and some would find a degree of fulfillment in other things, other ministries, but never again would we be so up close and personal with Jesus Himself. 2000 years ago when Jesus went forth to bring healing and salvation to multitudes of people, scores of disciples and supporters went both with and ahead of Him, setting up the crusades and working in a body ministry just like we did in Shekinah Fellowship all these centuries later.

Hang on, there's a reason why I'm sharing this with you. Sometime during the years of our involvement in this incredible miracle ministry, Vince took some time off and vacationed in Europe. He attended a small church in the south of Spain and recorded part of the service. Fortunately it included a young woman with the most beautiful voice, one of exceptional quality by any standards. As she sang the church fell dead silent. Her melodic voice echoed throughout the church. It was extraordinarily mesmerizing, spiritual, hallowed, and even eerie. The presence of the Holy Spirit hovered over the parishioners like a cloud.

The experience translated right through the tape recording. Only God can do that. Neither of us could catch the name of the song, thought to be of African origin, but the melody has haunted my head for almost 30 years now. I took the tape to the office where I worked at the time and had my boss, a Christian, listen to it. The song bothered him too in the same spiritual way as it did us, but none of us were able to come up with it's title no matter how much research we did.

Just recently a number of web sites have been put up on the Net in honor of the Shekinah miracle ministry of all those years ago. You can find them. People who were involved with Shekinah are still hurting in their hearts because that intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit and particular anointing of power has been a once in a lifetime experience for most. What I didn't know was that Brant used to sit on the steps of the Shrine Auditorium after Kathryn Kuhlman's miracle and healing services for hours crying to the Lord to allow him to be used like she was. The part I knew so well was that God did do exactly that. What I also didn't know was that that song was instrumental in the formation of the Shekinah Fellowship and that it was called His Name Is As Ointment.

Why has it taken so long for me to connect with this one song which has unceasingly haunted me day after day all these years? Am I coming full circle? I think so. The Holy Spirit is reminding me what this is all about. It started with Jesus and it will most decidedly end with Jesus. Alpha and Omega; the first and the last. Without Him my life would have been a waste. If you're young you may not know it, but in retrospect I can tell you that I regret not even one moment, the bad with the good, because I have walked with Jesus. I have known Him intimately, and yes, Jesus' name is like an ointment poured upon me. And on you. An ointment of comfort, protection, and all encompassing love beyond description. His name is unspeakably Holy. It's the warm liquid whisper of love infiltrating deep within your soul. It's the ointment. Let Him pour Himself on you, through you.

It's no stretch for me to see how blessed I have been, that God has chosen to protect me for 62 years. My life has been spared over and over from close brushes with death - car accidents, near drowning, concussion. Not to mention escaping AIDS which stole the life from well over 100 friends throughout the years; many of them spirit-filled Christians. I don't have answers, but I can speak to the mercy of God. When nothing else is left, God's mercy faithfully endureth.

His name is as ointment poured forth
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
His name is as ointment poured forth
His name is as ointment poured forth

The Word

2 Corinthians 4:14 (The Message)

13-15We're not keeping this quiet, not on your life. Just like the psalmist who wrote, "I believed it, so I said it," we say what we believe. And what we believe is that the One who raised up the Master Jesus will just as certainly raise us up with you, alive. Every detail works to your advantage and to God's glory: more and more grace, more and more people, more and more praise!
Romans 8:28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
1 Peter 4:12Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
13But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
James 1:3Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
James 2:5Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
Hebrews 12:2Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:3For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Hebrews 12:3 (The Message)

Discipline in a Long-Distance Race 1-3Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!
These are trying times. Times when the slogans come to mind, "Tough times don't last, tough people do. When the going gets tough, tough people get going."
Apostle Paul knew this.
2 Timothy 3:11Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
2 Timothy 3:11 (The Message)

Keep the Message Alive 10-13You've been a good apprentice to me, a part of my teaching, my manner of life, direction, faith, steadiness, love, patience, troubles, sufferings—suffering along with me in all the grief I had to put up with in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. And you also well know that God rescued me! Anyone who wants to live all out for Christ is in for a lot of trouble; there's no getting around it. Unscrupulous con men will continue to exploit the faith. They're as deceived as the people they lead astray. As long as they are out there, things can only get worse.
2 Peter 3:3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
1 John 4:1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Luke 21:28And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
2 Peter 3:8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
1 Thessalonians 4:17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Isaiah 6:3And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
2 Peter 3:14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
Romans 6:6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Hebrews 6:9But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
3 John 1:5Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers;
3 John 1:2Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

George Orwell Prophet?

This was on the back cover in 1954:

Which One Will YOU Be In the Year 1984? There won't be much choice, of course, if this book's predictions turn out to be true. But you'll probably become one of the following four types: Proletarian--Considered inferior and kept in total ignorance, you'll be fed lies from the Ministry of Truth, eliminated upon signs of promse of ability!Police Guard--Chosen for lack of intelligence but superior brawn, you'll be suspicious of everyone and be ready to give your life for Big Brother, the leader you've never even seen! Party Member: Male--Face-less, mind-less, a flesh-and-blood robot with a push-button brain, you're denied love by law, taught hate by the flick of a switch!Party Member: Female--A member of the Anti-Sex League from birth, your duty will be to smother all human emotion, and your children might not be your husband's! Unbelievable? You'll feel differently after you've read this best-selling book of forbidden love and terror in a world many of us may live to see!

Almost as if George was here in this present moment when he wrote his book. I recall being assigned to read this book in high school in the late sixties, 1984 seemed so far ahead and the scenario of the book was so far fetched.

Who knew?

DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE ?

The answer is obvious

Your sick friends would be healed.

Your life would bring joy instead of sorrow.

Your countenance would shine with love.

Your motives wouldn’t be what they are and your heart would be at peace.

I have found that when I simply give up and believe, my giving becomes uninhibited and a prevailing peace floods my soul. It’s almost as if I have been wrong all along about everything I have ever thought I believed. I simply begin to believe in Jesus again without the questions. I have compassion and I believe in miracles. I believe every miracle recorded in the bible just as if it is still true for us today. If they are not true for everybody, they were never true for anybody. I embrace the fact that God truly is love and that I can depend on that love in every situation.

Is healing for everybody, all the time, every time? Every demon is subject to the name of Jesus and must give way to God’s will. No demon in hell can prevail against us. The devil simply cannot violate the blood of Jesus Christ. There is power in the blood. We overcome the devil by the blood of the lamb and by the word of our testimony. When we command demons to depart in the name of Jesus they must depart, and if our command is to never return, they must never return. That is always God’s will.

The destroying death angel had to pass over every house in Egypt that had the blood applied to the door. There is no way in hell that Satan could have dishonored the authoritative power behind that blood. All power in heaven and earth cannot and will not stop the power unleashed by faith in that blood. Demons must bow, sickness and disease must bow, poverty, anxiety, loneliness, and all addictions must bow. Nothing can by any means hurt you when you believe in and apply the blood of Jesus Christ.

Now I can hear the voice of human reason saying, "But what about…" I don’t care what doctrine, what logic, what scholarly theological argument that you or anyone may have. I am leaving them all behind to embrace a faith that says, "Yes and now" to every miracle of God. I have determined within my soul to believe the word of God. To take it for what it says, to believe on it and to act upon it. We are unstoppable, indestructible, and completely dependent on the predictability of God’s word. He means what He says and He even says it before it happens. What He has decreed will be.

The outcome of our faith is without doubt predicted by the word of God. It will come to pass just as you have believed. Jesus said, "Be it unto you according to your faith." If we stand in faith, as it is written, we will also receive by faith as it is written.

By faith be healed, be delivered, blind eyes see, deaf ears hear. Nothing but unbelief can stand in the way of Gods healing power. In Africa we say Kira – (be healed) and people are healed. What do you say?

Pastor Tilson

Running from God

Some of us are running...

Dr. Gary Greenwald Eagles Nest

I know that I told you about Gary before, http://shekinahfellowship.blogspot.com/2007/10/adam-eagles-nest-ministries-drgary.html but now is a good time to tell you again when so many are seeking out those who are anointed of God in the gifts of healing.

Dr. Gary Greenwald of Eagles Nest is a true man of God who has always had a powerful ministry in the area of healings. I recall Gary at Dana Point Community Chapel with Pastor Jerry Fromling and occasional guest Dick Mills. I honestly believe that there was an impartation from Fromlings ministry to Gary. Gary moved forward into a movie ministry like Fromlings and progressed from there.

Gary is a man who will draw the gifts of God from you. Just being in his ministry will increase your faith and encourage you to press in towards God. This is the real deal. You leave an Eagle's Nest meeting with renewed faith and vision. Those people are full of faith and it is genuinely contagious!

He moves in the prophetic as well as healing ministry. No shenanigans, no PT Barnum, no self promotion, just a spiritual rolling up of the sleeves and getting down to the work of the ministry.

Lonnie Frisbee once told me that if Gary would refuse to touch the "gold" his healing ministry would go international. But if he did touch the gold it would not. Today Gary's ministry is international!

Here is just one testimony from Gary's ministry...there are so many many more.

This is Katherine, and her testimony:

Dear Dr Gary,

I wanted to personally give you an update on my situation since you were at CI in Florida just over a week ago.

I developed severe allergies and about a year ago it got so back that I could not eat any of the following foods:

WheatCorn (and anything with corn, corn syrup, etc)GarlicOnionTomatoLemonShellfishTo name a few.

I was also not allowed to be outside because I had allergies to:

PollenGrassDustMold

And numerous other outdoor things.

Having been to the ER so many times because my throat closes and the smell of some of these things I carried around a breathing machine (so I do not have to wait to get to ER), 4 inhalers (1 of them is very 4 hours, the other is the strongest possible and I took that twice a day and the other 2 are if needed.), I also carry a self-injecting Epipen which I have to use at the earliest sign of an allergic reaction. It has really not been easy. It was at a point in April 2007 that I now have an air purifier in my office and my bedroom to help me breathe. I also could not sign much during worship or talk much as I would get so out of breathe.

The staff at CI have been praying for me regularly for about a year because it is just getting worse. In April they also told me that I only had 1/3 lung capacity and they do not understand why the drastic change in 2 years. I was also recommended for some new asthma injections, which would have cost me of $500 per injection to try and help me.

On another note, since being on staff at CI since 1998 I have been through various medical things and just did not feel I could break free of it.

Last year I was also passing out a lot and they recommended no driving until they diagnosed the problem. They diagnosed low blood pressure.

Well that Friday night you were here at CI, I was in the Video Room doing the Streaming of the event and the Lord spoke to me that it was my time for healing. I agreed but did not know how as I was the only one streaming. You kept calling out a breathing condition and when you said that you knew this person was here I really felt it was me. Well as you prayed for the allergies, asthma, blood condition and you saw a spirit of health coming upon me ... life has not been the same again!!!!!

I still have so much energy. I do not get out of breath during worship or conversations. I have NOT taken any allergy medication or any of my inhalers or breathing treatments since then. I also have not taken my low blood pressure medication. It is AMAZING!!!!!!

I have eaten pizza, shrimp, garlic bread, had a soda and swept the leaves in my yard and had NO problems. Every time we meet as a church or staff here I am able to testify on the radical changes that have taken place. I have had many comments from leadership that I look different and that even my skin looks better.

I thank the Lord for your obedience not to stop calling for that person ... I know God can touch anyone where they are at ... even if they are working during a service.

Life is very different now that I do not have to be concerned about ingredients and that I can breathe! I can also start traveling and ministering again -- have not been able to do too much of that since all this got so bad a year ago. I am Licensed with CI and have traveled internationally with Bishop and Mom.

Thanks again,

Katherine Burstein

How do we know?

A very good question.
The Bible teaches that all Christians should grow in spiritual discernment.
For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.- Hebrews 5:12-14
Paul told the Thessalonians:Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances. But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil.- 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22
While he encouraged the Thessalonians not to discount or dismiss the Holy Spirit - by despising that which was being taught as coming from God (prophecy) - Paul instructed them to test everything.
In other words, if someone preaches or teaches something that he or she claims was inspired by God, we are not to despise it - which would result in quenching the Holy Spirit.
However, we are to carefully examine that which is being taught.
Earlier, Luke called the people of Berea - where Paul and Silas had been sent to preach - "more noble-minded that those in Thessalonica," because they received the word with great eagerness, examining [anakrino] the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. Therefore many of them believed, along with a number of prominent Greek women and men.- Acts 17:11-12
Thus the Bereans did not quench the Spirit, but rather tested what was being taught, using Scripture as their guide.
The only way to grow in spiritual discernment is by relying on the guidance of the Holy Spirit who indwells every true Christian, and by stuyding God’s Word, the Bible.
These two go hand-in-hand.
The Bible provides the standard against which all teachings must be tested:All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.- 2 Timothy 3:16-17
This reliance both on the guidance of the Holy Spirit and on God’s Written Word should keep Christians focused on God.
If Christians were to rely only on their ability to listen to the Holy Spirit, they would leave themselves open to all manner of private teachings and interpretations - without any rules by which to rest such revelations.
At the same time, it they were to rely only on their own ability to interpret and apply the Scriptures, they would leave no room for God’s guidance in revealing to them the riches of his Word.

As Christians our focus should always be on the living God, with whom we have an interactive relationship.
No Christian is an island. There is much to be learned from one another, as we share the wisdom and insights God has revealed to us from His Word, by His Holy Spirit.
Sadly, though, many Christians leave the responsibility for discernment almost completely up to others. Their guidance comes primarily from televangelists, authors (and, more often than not, their ghost writers), their pastors, or their favorite websites.
That’s like being spoon-fed by someone else - marking one as an infant, rather than as a mature Christian:For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.- Hebrews 5:12-14
By all means, let’s learn from one another - eagerly receiving the word, while also examining everything carefully.
Christians who believe that the Spiritual Gifts are still available today, see the gift of "distinguishing between spirits" (discerning whether they are human, from God, or demonic), to be a special form of discernment (revealed, instead of learned):Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.- 1 Corinthians 12:7-11
In Moses day there was the pillar of fire by night and the cloud by day. They followed the pillar of fire at night. The desert can get real cold at night, if you refused to follow the fire you got cold. The desert can get very hot during the day, if you refused to follow the cloud you had no shade and fried in the hot sun overhead. Therefore it made very good sense to follow the pillar of fire and the cloud where ever they would go.
Spiritual discernment : calling on the Holy Spirit to lead or give direction on a matter. It is how the Spirit shows the church or its people what God wants them to do and be.
There is discernment of :
gifts,
spirits,
actions,
intents,
the spirit of the times we live in.

Discernment is more than just a skill. Discernment is a gift from God before it is anything else. Yet there are clearly skills you put to use in using your gift, and you can become better at it through training and experience.
Discernment is more than just a process. Even for the most 'material' or 'nitty-gritty' matters, there is a Spirit at work nudging us, leading us, even pulling us by the nose ring. Even for the most 'spiritual' matters, there are disciplines, methods, processes, means, and tools which the Spirit can work through to help us discern rightly. Discernment isn't usually a sudden zap from beyond, but something which emerges from hard work.
Learn to discern. Yearn to discern.
We have to discriminate between what is true and what is false, ... between what is primary and what is secondary, between what is central and what is peripheral.

When the Spirit is on the move, it's characterized by:

Christ-centered spirituality in every aspect of life;
Rejection of all prejudice, class/ethnic/educational barriers, exclusiveness, and denominational warfare. When it follows the Spirit, the Body of Believers knowingly chooses to counter-model prejudices by living without regard to them.
bringing attention and worship to Jesus Christ, and awareness of God's/Jesus'/Spirit's work.
an unusual level of passion, energy, or impact.
These are the main things to look for in discerning about something:
it is governed by love, for if it is not, it's worthless ( 1 Corinthians 13:1-3);

it centers us onto Jesus the Christ and Lord ( 1 Cor 12:3), and His good news;

it directs us to Scripture, not away from it ( Isaiah 8:19, 20);

it builds up the church and its members ( Ephesians 4:11-12), giving it power, wisdom, character, boldness, and unity.

it helps create in us a love of righteousness, a heightened sense of sin, and a turning away from known evil.
'Discernment' is sometimes used as a catch-word for speaking against others (as with some 'discernment ministries'), or to defeat them in a struggle for power or influence, or just to pick at them until they quit or retreat. Discerning eyes look for whether something that's labeled 'discernment' is done from love, or whether it just is a clanging gong or a noisy cymbal. Jesus didn't call us to love ideas, he called us to love people. John put it as bluntly as he could :
"One who does not love does not know God, for God is love." (I John 4:8)
When discerning, the Christian must keep in mind why he/she is doing it. Ask yourself, "If I raise this issue, how am I pointing people to Christ? How am I helping them grow in the Spirit? In what way am I loving them?" If there's no answer to those questions, or if you have to stretch far and wide to come up with a complicated or weak answer, then it's best not to speak. Indeed, it's time to focus on listening, because it may be your time to learn.
The New Testament passes along the testimony of those who knew Jesus and His mission in person. For the early church after the apostles, for the Reformers, and for us today, believers turn to Scripture because they know the Spirit speaks there. It is Scripture which shows us the Spirit's priorities, and Scripture which shares with us the vision of the coming Kingdom. The Spirit works through Scripture, not against it. Through the Bible, you can discover wisdom and direction. Without it, you'll fail to distinguish God's Purposes and Word from your purposes and words. This is true of what you think and do today, and it's also true of the past, including the most treasured of traditions. If the new or the old stands against Scripture or is used to thwart its central thrusts, we must stand with Scripture, or we will fall for anything.
This 'Scripture principle' is not there to hold the Spirit in chains. It's to be used in the light of freedom in Christ, knowing that Scripture does not directly address most matters. Instead of demanding direct 'Scriptural warrant' for a practice or course of action, it's better to seek these signals :
that Scripture does not speak against it;

that the practice or teaching conveys the Gospel, and is fully in keeping with the root and heart of Christian belief found in Scripture;

that it turns the focus onto Christ, not persons, ideas, ideologies, organizations, wondrous signs, or activities;

that it is truthful, not rooted in a lie or distortion.
If these are all true, then no direct warrant is needed from Scripture, tradition, or for that matter, sometimes even from common sense. The Spirit has every right to lead us into new things that look like folly. The Holy Spirit is sovereign. Discernment is about finding out if it's the Holy Spirit and not someone else's folly.
There are some people who could stuff themselves with Scripture until it came out their noses, and they'd still refuse to let the Spirit teach them anything. They're not discerning at all; they're seeking support, not truth. For the rest of us, the patient, prayerful, steady study of Scripture brings many rewards. The Spirit rewards such diligent listening by developing within us an understanding of why God acted in the past. Since the same God is acting today toward the same purposes, this gives you a sense of what God is doing now and what role you may have in it.
The Scripture principle is not a substitute for the Spirit. It works only because the Spirit works through Scripture. We rely on this truth when we read the Scriptures in earnest prayer. Without the Spirit's action, the Bible's pages would lay still, moving your life no more than a dictionary or encyclopedia. If the Spirit is working in us, the Bible is aflame with truth and vision for every corner of our lives and for the whole world. The Spirit wants us to study, to trust, and to shape our lives according to what is in Scripture; to steep it into our souls, to live by the contours and the world vision of the Scriptures. Noone can prove that the Bible is the authentic story of God's dealings with humanity. That has to be shown to each of us by the Holy Spirit.
Anyone who denies the authority of the written Word in/for the church comes real close to bypassing the Christ who is the living Word of God, and who is what the written Word is about. We cannot just nakedly 'go by the fruit' of the Spirit, because it is Scripture which tells us what fruit we are to look for, and in what contexts they are the work of the Spirit. Without the Bible, we can't accurately recognize what is from God, or tell it from what's fake.
There is another warning to be given here. You can have God-gifted leaders, go through prayerful discernment, decision-making, and accountability processes, and even have things start to go well. But the surest way for them to turn wrong is to start telling others that your decisions are "God's will". That's something known in the distant future, if at all. It's a pretty big boast, if you think about it : you know what the Almighty knows. Most believers and non-believers alike rightly dismiss such talk. And pride does come before a fall. Decision-making isn't always a matter of the thunderous "Will Of God", and even when it is, you may not have it right. This is a reason the Spirit builds humility into people.
Scripture shapes an authentic Spirit-led experience, and sets the bounds for it. When looking for the course and purposes of what God is doing, Scripture ranks first.
Discernment is more than the work of an individual person. The Spirit acts within the gathered believers (the Church) so they can discern what to do and be. Within that context, specific persons may be given the gift for leading the church as it discerns. Such gifted people are given a 'spiritual eye' for cutting through facades and confusion, for getting to the heart of the matter. They listen closely, notice what's happening in the world around them, and instinctively know what place it has in God's plans. Someone who's gifted in discernment of spirits can find where evil lurks in good things, and where the Spirit is working when things are going wrong.
When the church was starting out, there was only one way she could learn the faith: on her feet. The church had to learn while she was doing. The Spirit had to teach the Christians how to love at the same time as moving them to act on that love, and teaching them mercy at the same time as empowering them to live merciful lives.
Christians sometimes forget that what we teach and discuss is inevitably our own understanding of Scripture. Other understandings, if drawn from Scripture and open to be judged by Scripture, are possible and even faithful. We discern to learn.
That's why it's so valuable to have the input from 2000 years of churchgoing Christians (tradition) and the billion Christians of today (fellowship). Meaning springs out of life; the Spirit's way is lived and experienced. Even more: it is lived and experienced as a part of those who believe in Jesus and his good news, a Body of Followers whose members are formed and shaped in this way, as found in Scripture. This community teaches each other, recalls history, shares their experiences, and affirms each other's value. It (sometimes) has the strength to say no and to get each of us to amend our understandings and change our ways when we're going astray, and to show a more excellent way in all things.
When you're being checked by the church, you're being checked by others who have also done patient, prayerful, steady study of Scripture. The Spirit didn't give a sense of God's purposes only to you but also to others, in a slightly different way for each of them. If they didn't study God's ways, they won't have that sense, and thus are a less trustworthy part of the discernment process. (You'll never find out one way or the other unless you listen carefully, and have the guts to put away any defensive reactions you might have.)
Church actions should be set up to discern the right direction before it acts, to keep effective tabs on it while it acts, and to debrief after it acts, taking whatever disciplinary actions or clarifying lessons are needed. Do this, expecting that the Spirit will lead, if really asked and really given a chance to lead.
One drawback of the church's role in discernment is that it is made up of people. (It's a benefit in more ways, but here's one way it's also a drawback.) People are strange, and sometimes do wrong. They are not all-knowing, and have badly-damaged understandings. They can be fooled. People love to be sweet talked, to be showered with puffery and to get their egos stroked. They push aside what's bad news for the camp they're in. It's easy to become a yes-man or get stuck in the 'no' position. These facts must be kept in mind when discerning with the church. But remember too that these things are also true of you. Your role in discernment requires checking and re-checking and cross-checking, and so does the church's.
Neither you nor the communicated Word nor the Church local or universal are the bridge between the biblical events and our putting the Word into living effect. It is the Holy Spirit's doing.
Like everything else in this world, our discernments are bound by our imperfections and thus can be false or shallow or merely mistaken. But it helps greatly to have the right attitude toward it :
Make sure you can be held accountable by specific trusted people, on small things as well as large ones;

Allow those others to actually do it. Don't fight back nor blindly accept, but pay attention and be a servant about it;

Be ready to hold others accountable, if need be - even if that makes you uncomfortable.
This way, you become less bound by attitudes and actions which block your discernment.
One of the keys to discernment is surrender. If you treat "I" as the emperor of all things, you won't be in the right place to find out what God wants of you. In fact, this selfish imperial view of existence lies at the heart of all sin : we act as if we're God, even though we certainly know better. The emperor 'I' has no clothes. So we need to set aside what we want and what we've been taught, and join with Jesus in His prayer in the face of His most ultimate decision : "Yet not as I will, but as You will." (Matt 26:39).
Another key to discernment is a 'sense of peace' about something. That peace must take place not by itself, but within the rest of the framework of discernment, or it's not divine. Yet the absence of such peace is, by itself, bad news. Such peace and security comes and grows with prayer. Peace is a gift God is more than happy to give. God wants us to have some sense of security about what we do. Since God is not a God of confusion, it will not do in God's purposes for God's followers to be confused, or be confusing.
Some hints which confirm: --- a chance encounter with just the right person; --- a thought or conviction that keeps growing; --- something from the Bible which comes to mind; --- something said in conversation which keeps coming to mind; --- an opportunity which suddenly opens up. --- it 'bites back', becoming harder to stop the more you or anyone else tries to hold back.
These hints mean nothing by themselves, but can mean a lot when taken together.
A decision empowers you to act. When you don't decide, you give power to someone or something else to make the decision. So if there is not a clear sense of direction from the Spirit, it could be a hint that God didn't want you or your church to decide anything. If so, then let things happen as they will, leaving it in the hands of others whom God is calling forward. It is just as likely, though, that you're just ducking the question. The best way to discern the difference is :
if the search for leadings from the Spirit finds nothing or almost nothing (as against having an unclear or conflicted sense of leading);

if there is a specific someone who is clearly stepping forward;

if that specific someone is doing this out of concern or love and not a drive for power.
It may take a lot of humility to admit that you are not God's chosen one and you don't hold the reins of power. But in fact, you don't; God does, and God will work through people other than yourself or your group.
There is a harbor in Greece with a very narrow opening that has shallow rocks on both sides of the opening just under the water that can't be seen. If one doesn't know exactly where to enter this protected harbor there could be hull damage. There are three lights set up on poles about 50 feet from one another in a straight line. The helmsman knows that if he sees three lights he is off course, the same if he sees two lights. When he sees only one light he knows that it is safe to proceed into the harbor because he is lined up with the narrow entrance perfectly. All the lights line up and appear as one.
Discernment is like that. One light is our sense of inner peace by the Holy Spirit. Another light is the Word of God. And the other light is confirmation through others or through the 'highlighting' language of the Holy Spirit. when they all line up as one it is safe to proceed forward.
Remember: "When in doubt, DON'T.
God never gives us discernment in order that we may criticize, but that we may intercede." ------ Oswald Chambers
"I never learned anything while I was talking."------ Larry King
"Conflating modern-day intuition, etc. with the real Spirit is like confusing a gentle breeze with a tornado. If the real Spirit were really working in the post-apostolic church, it would be just as ambiguous as a cyclone." ------ online comment.
"Discerning and acting on God's will does not mean you'll never have difficult days or feel lousy sometimes. But choosing to live in alignment with God makes you more joyful, compassionate, and peaceful, even on bad days."------ Debra K. Farrington, *Hearing with the Heart*

"The majority of historic heresy is based on an interpretation of the written not the living word. The 'living word' -- which is the Word in action through the gifts of the Spirit -- is all application and totally subjected in interpretation to the body of Christian truth, not an elevation of subjective over objective truth." ------ Ron Zess (online).
More of Jesus let me learn More of His holy will discern; Spirit of God, my teacher be Showing the things of Christ to me.------ ('More About Jesus', EE Hewitt, 1915)
(1) Have you had the experience of thinking you were being led by God to do something, and it turned out not to be so?What were the consequences? Looking back on it, what could/should have alerted you to this?
(2) What kind of matters have you sought God's guidance about? How has the result surprised you, if it did?
(3) Have you ever used "God's will" as a cover for your own plans or ideas? Are you doing so now? What led you to do it? (Please, don't talk or think about when others have done so; that just breaks down into the blame game. Talk about yourself.)
(4) Take a look at 1 Thessalonians 5:19-21. It says 'Don't quench the Spirit' and 'test all things'.
How do they fit together?

How might these be seen as working against each other?

Have you ever been involved in an activity or a church where one was used to render the other as void? How? Why? Did you take any action?
(5) List the people you would most likely turn to when you're making a tough personal decision? What is it about them that would cause you to turn to them?
(6) For church-goers and cell members : how do the members of your church/cell use each other as a way of discernment?

The World According to Monsanto

On March 11 a new documentary was aired on French television (ARTE – French-German cultural tv channel) by French journalist and film maker Marie-Monique Robin, The World According to Monsanto - A documentary that Americans won’t ever see. The gigantic biotech corporation Monsanto is threatening to destroy the agricultural biodiversity which has served mankind for thousands of years.

Welcome to Audio Bible,

Back In the forties Alexander Scourby recorded the very first narration of the Bible. It was produced by The American Foundation For The Blind and distributed by The American Bible Society as The Talking Bible. The Logo on the records read "God's Word for a new age". Fifty years have passed and I would like to present to you "God's Word for this new age." The oldest Book in the world is now available in multimedia. Instead of 67 wax records running at 16 2/3 Rpm speed it now fits onto one CD-ROM disk. Yes with Audio Bible you can listen to all 72 hours of audio without flipping a record or tape. You may ask yourself, why you need Audio Bible? One of my friends made the point clear to me. He asked me, "tell me of one thing your father ever wrote to you?" My mind went blank. After a few seconds he said, "now tell me things your father told you?" My mind began to fill with memories and his point was made. We remember better if we hear it and best if we read along with what we hear. This is what Audio Bible is all about. For centuries the Bible was read aloud, even when in private, remember the story of Philip and the Eunuch?
ACTS 8:30 And Philip ran thither to [him], and heard him read the prophet Esaias.

KNOWING JESUS:

Here's the deal: The reason God made you is so you can know Him. But nobody can please God on their own. It's impossible, because it's our human nature to turn away from what God wants and to do what we want. This is called sin, and it separates us from God. C.S. Lewis summed it up in MERE CHRISTIANITY: "Fallen man is not simply an imperfect creature who needs improvement; he is a rebel who must lay down his arms."

The Bible says in Romans 3:23 that "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." What does "all" mean? It means ALL of us. We are ALL sinners. But it's not because of what we've done--it's because of WHO WE ARE.

Romans 6:23 says "The wages of sin is death"--the key word is "sin," not "sins." It's our sinful nature that separates us from God and makes us worthy of eternal separation from Him, not just any single thing we've done.

So what can we do? The Bible says in John 3:3, "No one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." What does this mean? It means that we must become totally new on the inside to be able to please God. How do we do this? We must become like Jesus, the Son of God, the only person who has ever done this.

Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." There is nobody else in history who has been able to please God and pay the price of perfection--of being like God--which God demands from us. So what do we do?

The Bible says in Romans 10:9-10, "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (rescued from your sin)."

Right now, ask yourself these questions:

Are you a sinner?

Do you want to be rescued from your sin?

Do you believe Jesus Christ has paid God's price of perfection for us by giving God his life--dying on the cross--then rising from the dead in victory over sin and death?

Are you willing to surrender control of your life to Jesus Christ?

Are you ready to invite Jesus to into your life and into your heart?

If so, pray:

Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me enough to send your son Jesus into this world to show me how I can know You. I believe Jesus died and paid the price for my sin so that I wouldn't have to, and rose from the dead in victory over sin. I'm ready to give up my control of my life and want to let Jesus have control. Please forgive me of my sin and make me like You. Lord Jesus, come into my life and and be my Savior and my Lord. Thank you for loving me enough to die for me. Show me how to live for You and follow You always. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

If you have prayed this, what does this mean? It means you've been rescued from your sin and are now a child of God. It doesn't matter who you are or what you've done. Romans 10:13 says, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." What does "everyone" mean? It means EVERYONE. It means YOU. YOU have now been rescued and set free from your old way of life by Jesus.

WHAT TO DO NOW
Read the Bible regularly and frequently--it's your spiritual food and strength. Find a version of the Bible which is easy to read. (I prefer the New International Version.) Begin reading in the Gospel of John. Learn as much as you can about Jesus.

Pray every day. Prayer is conversation with God. You can pray any time, no matter what you've done. God wants to talk with you, and Jesus promised He would never turn away anyone who came to Him. (John 6:37).

Find a church congregation where Jesus Christ is honored, where the Bible is taught and where everyone is welcomed.

Tell other people about how Jesus has rescued you from your sin and has given you a brand new life.

This is a 728 ton brass ball that hangs in the center of a skyscraper, the world's largest completed skyscraper, taking up four floors near the top. It's job is to attenuate the motion of the building in the event of high winds or an earth quake. Since this building is just over 600ft from a major fault line, the brass ball is being used to compensate any motion encountered.

New World Order Conspiracy Insight

Let me start by these Biblical quotes:

Matthew Chapter Four:
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Every man of God that proceeds to walk in the calling that God has placed upon his soul will go through this exact same scenario. He will be tempted to compromise truth and reality in exchange for "things."

Again...

Luke Chapter Four:
5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Every man of God that starts to walk in the anointing and blessings of God upon the ministry to which God has called him will go through this exact same scenario. He will be tempted to compromise truth and reality in exchange for "power."

In 1991 "Doctor" Pat Robertson wrote a book called "The New World Order." In this book "Doctor" exposed the plans of Satan for this earth. The gradual unfolding of these plans was delineated in clear understandable fashion. Everyone was amazed at "Doctors" comprehension and knowledge of these things. He explained the process for world globalism. He showed past progress and future plans of the New World Order.

Fast forward to 2008 and we no longer see this incredible prophetic book on the bookstore shelves. Quietly and without notice we see that someone has removed the book from the inventory.

On September 11, we Americans were the victims of the terrible attack. By September 12, we became the suspects of that attack.

Here we are and not one single citizen of the United States of America hijacked a plane, yet President Bush and Attorney John Ashcroft, through powers seized then codified in the USA PATRIOT Act, fingered 270 million of us for surveillance, for searches, for tracking, for watching. And secret danger lurks everywhere...A new "Fear" industry has been born.

We know that a dictator imposes his will on the masses, his word is law and he can contemplate no opposition to his plans or ambitions. To do so would be to let power slip from his grasp and dictators throughout the ages have proven that man will go to any lengths to maintain his dominance over his fellow man. Rule by force.

While not all dictators can be termed evil, the very nature of their regimes suggests inherent corruption. As Lord Acton's often quoted phrase puts it: "All power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

The U.S. military budget is roughly equal to that of all of the rest of the world's nations, and it is inconceivable that any hostile state could emerge in the next twenty years with the ability to match the United States in a combat zone, even if no new weapons are added to the American arsenal. Military weapons manufacturing and supplys has become big business of American corporations.

They need "Fear," it's good business.

America's biggest problem is the rapid, unstoppable expansion of government at every level. This is not a problem of afford ability, it's a problem of liberty. The bigger government gets, the more it extinguishes the choices made by individuals. We all enjoy fewer freedoms as regulation grows.

The biggest threat most of us face is from our own government, not foreign invaders. Government has grown big because of "Fear." Government officials have grown adept at scaring people, by using real, perceived and exaggerated threats to convince the public to give away more precious liberties.

This current administration has kept the public so scared of 'terrorists' that there have been too few complaints as it has centralized executive "power."

Benjamin Franklin said, "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

There is a New World Order that has infiltrated and is gradually taking away freedom and liberty.

Pat Robertson backed Bush for president. As the leader of the 1.2 million strong ultra-right political front Christian Coalition he had power. People really believed that Robertson had a hotline to God.

In the New World Order, Robertson explains that Scotsman William Paterson first proposed the creation of the Satanic "central banks" specifically the Bank of England and Bank of Scotland, who were manipulated by the Rothschild's to finance diamond mines in Africa which, in turn, funded the Satanic secret English Round Table directed by Lord Milner, editor of the London Observer a century ago.

Furthermore, the Scottish banker's charter became the pattern for the U.S. Federal Reserve Board, a diabolical agency created and nurtured by the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, whose chairman was the evil Money Trust's dependable friend, Senator A. Willis Robertson- Pat Robertson's father.

That's right, Pat is the scion of the New World Order, who gave up it's boundless privileges to denounce it. Or did he?

Dietrich Bonhoeffer martyr

A Lutheran pastor, Bonhoeffer was a member of the resistance against dictator Adolph Hitler and was executed by the Nazis in 1945, during the final months of World War II.

In rebellion against the Nazi-controlled state church, some 2,000 Lutheran pastors organized the Pastors' Emergency League in 1934, which later became the Confessing Church. Bonhoeffer was head of the independent church's seminary at Finkenwalde. It was one of five seminaries closed by the Nazis in 1937.

A member of the resistance, he communicated with the British government and also worked on his book, Ethics, from 1940 until his arrest in 1943. As Simon & Schuster points out in a description of the book on its Web site, "The Christian does not live in a vacuum, says the author, but in a world of government, politics, labor and marriage. Hence, Christian ethics cannot exist in a vacuum; what the Christian needs, claims Dietrich Bonhoeffer, is concrete instruction in a concrete situation. Although the author died before completing his work, this book is recognized as a major contribution to Christian ethics."

"During a time of grave darkness in Nazi Germany, Bonhoeffer shined the light of Christ all the way to a hangman's noose. Nearly every clergy has studied him and used him in sermons and theological discourse. It is time we recognize his accomplishments and martyrdom of the highest calling."
In particular, a group called the Deutsche Christen ("German Christians") became the voice of Nazi ideology within the Evangelical Church, even advocating the removal of the Old Testament from the Bible. In the summer of 1933, citing the state Aryan laws that barred all "non-Aryans" from the civil service, the Deutsche Christen proposed a church "Aryan paragraph" to prevent "non-Aryans" from becoming ministers or religious teachers.
Bonhoeffer bitterly opposed the Aryan paragraph, arguing that its ratification surrendered Christian precepts to political ideology. If "non-Aryans" were banned from the ministry, he argued, then their colleagues should resign in solidarity, even if this meant the establishment of a new church — a "confessing" church that would remain free of Nazi influence. This was a minority view; most German bishops wanted to avoid antagonizing the Nazi regime and to keep their regional churches together.

As a young pastor, Bonhoeffer helped organize the Confessing Church, Germany’s only true organized challenge to the Nazi state. He went to New York on a teaching fellowship and taught Sunday school in the famed Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem. When he returned to Germany in 1932, he took with him a new awareness of racial prejudice. This experience helped him identify the plight of the Jews in Germany and he became one of the first to ask the Christian churches to defend the Jews in their moment of peril. In the end, Bonhoeffer paid with his life for his beliefs. Three weeks before the end of World War II, on April 9, 1945, the 39-year-old minister was executed at the Flossenbürg
Concentration Camp by hanging.

The village of Flossenbürg dated from the Middle Ages and was located in the Oberpfalz Mountains of Bavaria, 40 miles east of Nuremburg, near the Czech frontier and situated close to a number of rock quarries. The first granite quarry was established there in 1875 and soon became the center of the village economy. In the late 1930's the owner of the quarry -- also mayor of the village and a loyal Nazi -- persuaded Heinrich Himmler to establish a major camp at the site.

KL Flossenbürg was established in May 1938, and began as a relatively small facility originally intended for criminals, "asocial" persons, and Jews, but it grew to include political prisoners and foreign prisoners of war.
Between 1938, when the camp was established, and April 1945, more than 96,000 prisoners passed through Flossenbürg. About 30,000 eventually died there.
