Is the Dead Sea dying?

It sits at the lowest spot on earth, is fed by one of the world's most significant waterways, and served witness to humanity's passage out of Africa. And it's dying. The Dead Sea, among the most remarkable natural phenomena on the earth's face, has lost a third of its surface area over 50 years, and continues to shrink three or more feet annually -- entirely because of human behavior.

Paul Harvey and Prayer

Paul Harvey says:

I don't believe in Santa Claus, but I'm not going to sue somebody for singing a Ho-Ho-Ho song in December. I don't agree with Darwin, but I didn't go out and hire a lawyer when my high school teacher taught his Theory of Evolution.

Life, liberty or your pursuit of happiness will not be endangered because someone says a 30-second prayer before a football game. So what's the big deal? It's not like somebody is up ther e reading the entire Book of Acts. They're just talking to a God they believe in and asking him to grant safety to the players on the field and the fans going home from the game.

But it's a Christian prayer, some will argue.

Yes, and this is the United States of America, a country founded on Christian principles. According to our very own phone book, Christian churches outnumber all others better than 200-to-1. So what would you expect -- somebody chanting Hare Krishna?

If I went to a football game Jerusalem, I would expect to hear a Jew ish prayer.

If I went to a soccer game in Baghdad, I would expect to hear a Muslim prayer.

If I went to a ping pong match in China, I would expect to hear someone pray to Buddha.

And I wouldn't be offended. It wouldn't bother me one bit. When in Rome...

But what about the atheists? Is another argument.

What about them? Nobody is asking them to be baptized. We're not going to pass the collection plate. Just humor us for 30 seconds. If that's asking too much, bring a Walkman or a pair of ear plugs. Go to the bathroom. Visit the concession stand. Call your lawyer!

Unfortunately, one or two will make that call. One or two will tell thousands what they can and cannot do. I don't think a short prayer at a football game is going to shake the world's foundations.

Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek while our courts strip us of all our rights. Our parents and grandparents taught us to pray before eating, to pray before we go to sleep. Our Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. Now a handful of people and their lawyers are telling us to cease praying.

God, help us. And if that last sentence offends you, well, just sue me.

The silent majority has been silent too long. It's time we tell that one or two who scream loud enough to be heard that the vast majority doesn't care what they want. It is time that the majority rules! It's time we tell them, You don't have to pray; you don't have to say the Pledge of Allegiance; you don't have to believe in God or attend services that honor Him. That is your right, and we will honor your right; but by golly, you are no longer going to take our rights away. We are fighting back, and we WILL WIN!

God bless us one and all ... especially those who denounce Him , God bless America, despite all her faults. She is still the greatest nation of all. God bless our service men who are fighting to protect our right to pray and worship God.

Let's make 2008 the year the silent majority is heard and we put God back as the foundation of our families and institutions ... and our military forces come home from all the wars.

Keep looking up.

If you agree with this, please pass it on.
If not delete it.

Tow Trucks

God some times will speak to me through "highlighted" visuals. For instance, just recently He started to show me tow trucks that were broken down in the road. Then I started to see tow trucks being towed.

And as you might imagine, I wondered what He was showing me.
My answer came quickly.

Pastors need pastoring. Pastors have lost their way and need to be pastored back on track.

Pastors need to get back to the teaching about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. They need to teach on the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The spiritual and inspirational aspects of Christianity need to come forward. It has not been enough to just concentrate on the intellectual things.

Roll up your sleeves and go for it. Sure the gifts can bring the kooks out, but there are those who get it. The level of spirituality in your church congregation will go up.

It will become exciting and fresh as you step back and allow the gifts to operate in your midst.

From the X-files (verified)

It sounds like science fiction but it's true:

A killer amoeba living in lakes enters the body through the nose and attacks the brain where it feeds until you die.Even though encounters with the microscopic bug are extraordinarily rare, it's killed six boys and young men this year.

The spike in cases has health officials concerned, and they are predicting more cases in the future.

So why would I mention this?

Pastor Tilson had a Christian church at Lake Havasu.

Lake Havasu, a popular man-made lake on the Colorado River between Arizona and California.

These killer amoeba are in Lake Havasu...

Dr. House MD had a story on this.

Tilson and his family are alive and well and most likly regretful that the Lord moved them away from Havasu city.

Kind of like sin, feeds on your brain until you die...

Jesus Christ is the cure.

Romans 6:23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

THAT THE WORLD MAY KNOW

The heavens declare the glory of God.

All of creation is a display of His glory. Nature itself testifies.

All around us we see the supernatural miracle of creation.

The very existence of beauty, in any form, is a reflection of God.

All things were created for Him and by Him.

Visible creation, though supernatural in origin, has become normal and natural to us.

We are accustomed to the visible, tangible world of sight and sound.

These are the works of God, but they are only works of old. God desires, in these last days, to be known as something more than natural.

When Jesus showed us the father, He did it by changing the natural course of things:

Rebuking the wind and the sea - Raising the dead -. Lepers were cleansed - The deaf were made to hear - Blind eyes could see.

His life was a demonstration of the Spirit and power of God.

Healing and deliverance were among the more prevalent miracles used by Jesus and the early church.

They validated the invisible presence of God in a visible way.

I believe this is the year for signs, wonders, and miracle.

All my life, I have prayed and believed God for healing. I have seen and heard a lot of miracles, but nothing compared to what’s ahead.

Every failure that we have ever experienced in praying for the sick will be redeemed.

God will make it up to us.

Those who have stepped out on the water in faith and sank will rise.

God has never, ever, rebuked me for failing. He has always encouraged me for trying.

This is the year.

I am writing this on New Years Eve in Kauai.

No matter what condition the sick are in, God can, and I believe He will, heal them.
