Study of 500,000 Teens Suggests Association Between Excessive Screen Time and Depression (vice.com)

Depression and suicide rates in teenagers have jumped in the last decade -- doubling between 2007 and 2015 for girls -- and the trend suspiciously coincides with when smartphones became their constant companions. A recent study places their screen time around nine hours per day. Another study, published on Tuesday, suggests that suicide and depression could be connected to the rise of smartphones, and increased screen time. Around 58 percent more girls reported depression symptoms in 2015 than in 2009, and suicide rates rose 65 percent. Smack in the middle of that window of time, smartphones gained market saturation.

In Twenge's new study, published in the journal Clinical Psychological Science, the researchers looked at two samples: a nationally representative survey by ongoing study "Monitoring the Future" out of the University of Michigan, which is administered annually to 8th, 10th, and 12th graders, and the Centers for Disease Control's Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System,

A sample of high school students administered by the CDC every other year. (Both surveys began in 1991.) Altogether, over 500,000 young people were included. The study authors examined trends in how teens used social media, the internet, electronic devices (including gaming systems and tablets), and smartphones, as well as how much time they spent doing non-screen activities like homework, playing sports, or socializing.
Comparing these to publicly available data on mental health and suicide for these ages between 2010 and 2017 showed "a clear pattern linking screen activities with higher levels of depressive symptoms/suicide-related outcomes and non-screen activities with lower levels," the researchers wrote in the study. All activities involving screens were associated with higher levels of depression or suicide and suicidal thinking, and activities done away from a screen were not.

The Rapture Watch

This is 100% Scriptural proof that we are to remain watchers despite opening ourselves up to mockers & persecution concerning the rapture of the Church.

By Matthew Sloane.

"THE WATCHERS" quick reference.

 The 6 points to cross-reference

1. Matthew24:36-39
The majority of people today will be ("OBLIVIOUS" NON-Watchers) just like they were when the Great flood destroyed mankind previously.

2. Matthew24:42-44
"Therefore keep watch"!  we are commanded to continuously keep watch, for we don't know the exact day or hour.

3. Matthew24:45-47
Blessed is the servant who is "Doing his Job" a watcher is active & mocked by non-watchers.

4. Matthew24:48-51
A Non-watching Servant says Mocks his fellow servants and begins to live worldly because he believes the master delays.

5. Revelation3:2-3
"Be Watchful" the servant who will not "Watch" God will come upon like a thief.
6. 1Thessalonians 5:6  A warning not to be a non-watcher, but watch & be sober.

Readiness at Any Hour

Matthew 24:36-51

36No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark. 39And they were oblivious, until the flood came and swept them all away. So will be the coming of the Son of Man. 40Two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left.

42Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day on which your Lord will come. 43But understand this: If the owner of the house had known in which watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44For this reason, you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect Him.

45Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of his household, to give the others their food at the proper time? 46Blessed is that servant whose master returns and finds him doing his job. 47Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.

48But suppose that servant is wicked and says in his heart, ‘My master will be away a long time.’ 49And he begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50The master of that servant will come on a day he does not anticipate and at an hour he does not expect. 51Then he will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Revelation 3:2-3
2Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. 3Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

1 Thessalonians 5:6
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us Watch and be sober.

There is now a shortage of cassette tape in the world

Steve Stepp and his team of septuagenarian engineers are using a bag of rust, a kitchen mixer larger than a man and a 62-foot-long contraption that used to make magnetic strips for credit cards to avert a disaster that no one saw coming in the digital-music era.
The world is running out of cassette tape (Editor's note: the link could be paywalled; alternative source). National Audio Co., where Mr. Stepp is president and co-owner, has been hoarding a stockpile of music-quality, an-eighth of an inch-wide magnetic tape from suppliers that shut down in the past 15 years after music lovers ditched cassettes.
National Audio held on. Now, many musicians are clamoring for cassettes as a way to physically distribute their music. The company says it has less than a year's supply of tape left. So it is building the first manufacturing line for high-grade ferric oxide cassette tape in the U.S. in decades.
If all goes well, the machine will churn out nearly 4 miles of tape a minute by January. And not just any tape. "The best tape ever made," boasts Mr. Stepp, 69 years old. "People will hear a whole new product."

'Something Is Wrong On the Internet'

"Someone or something or some combination of people and things is using YouTube to systematically frighten, traumatize, and abuse children, automatically and at scale, and it forces me to question my own beliefs about the internet, at every level," writes James Bridle. From the article:

To begin: Kid's YouTube is definitely and markedly weird. I've been aware of its weirdness for some time. Last year, there were a number of articles posted about the Surprise Egg craze. Surprise Eggs videos depict, often at excruciating length, the process of unwrapping Kinder and other egg toys. That's it, but kids are captivated by them. There are thousands and thousands of these videos and thousands and thousands, if not millions, of children watching them. [...] What I find somewhat disturbing about the proliferation of even (relatively) normal kids videos is the impossibility of determining the degree of automation which is at work here; how to parse out the gap between human and machine.
The New York Times, last week:Parents and children have flocked to Google-owned YouTube Kids since it was introduced in early 2015. The app's more than 11 million weekly viewers are drawn in by its seemingly infinite supply of clips, including those from popular shows by Disney and Nickelodeon, and the knowledge that the app is supposed to contain only child-friendly content that has been automatically filtered from the main YouTube site. But the app contains dark corners, too, as videos that are disturbing for children slip past its filters, either by mistake or because bad actors have found ways to fool the YouTube Kids algorithms. In recent months, parents like Ms. Burns have complained that their children have been shown videos with well-known characters in violent or lewd situations and other clips with disturbing imagery, sometimes set to nursery rhymes.

Monsanto Leaks Suggest It Tried To Kill Cancer Research On Roundup Weed Killer (rt.com)

The New York Times (Warning: article may be paywalled; alternate source):

Documents released Tuesday in a lawsuit against Monsanto raised new questions about the company's efforts to influence the news media and scientific research and revealed internal debate over the safety of its highest-profile product, the weed killer Roundup.

The active ingredient in Roundup, glyphosate, is the most common weed killer in the world and is used by farmers on row crops and by home gardeners.

While Roundup's relative safety has been upheld by most regulators, a case in federal court in San Francisco continues to raise questions about the company's practices and the product itself.

The documents underscore the lengths to which the agrochemical company goes to protect its image.

Documents show that Henry I. Miller, an academic and a vocal proponent of genetically modified crops, asked Monsanto to draft an article for him that largely mirrored one that appeared under his name on Forbes's website in 2015.

Mr. Miller could not be reached for comment.

A similar issue appeared in academic research. An academic involved in writing research funded by
Monsanto, John Acquavella, a former Monsanto employee, appeared to express discomfort with the process, writing in a 2015 email to a Monsanto executive, "I can't be part of deceptive authorship on a presentation or publication."

He also said of the way the company was trying to present the authorship: "We call that ghost writing and it is unethical."

Mr. Miller's 2015 article on Forbes's website was an attack on the findings of the International Agency for Research on Cancer, a branch of the World Health Organization that had labeled glyphosate a probable carcinogen, a finding disputed by other regulatory bodies.

In the email traffic, Monsanto asked Mr. Miller if he would be interested in writing an article on the topic, and he said, "I would be if I could start from a high-quality draft."

The article appeared under Mr. Miller's name, and with the assertion that "opinions expressed by Forbes Contributors are their own."

The magazine did not mention any involvement by Monsanto in preparing the article.

Cats and Dogs Cause Global Warming claims UCLA

When it comes to global warming, Fido and Fluffy are part of the problem, a new study by UCLA indicates.

Pet ownership in the United States creates about 64 million tons of carbon dioxide a year, UCLA researchers found.

That's the equivalent of driving 13.6 million cars for a year. The problem lies with the meat-filled diets of kitties and pooches, according to the study by UCLA geography professor Gregory Okin.

Dogs and cats are responsible for 25 to 30 percent of the impacts of meat production in the United
States, said Orkin. Compared to a plant-based diet, meat production "requires more energy, land and water and has greater environmental consequences in terms of erosion, pesticides and waste," the study found.

And what goes in, must come out. In terms of waste, Okin noted, feeding pets also leads to about 5.1 million tons of feces every year, roughly equivalent to the total trash production of Massachusetts. The study has been published in the journal PLOS One.

I Know That I Am Right...

When you think that you are right, you could be wrong...
When you think that you are wrong, you could be right...
Things are never what they at first appear to be.

Acts 17:11These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Facebook's AI Keeps Inventing Languages That Humans Can't Understand (fastcodesign.com)

"Researchers at Facebook realized their bots were chattering in a new language," writes Fast Company's Co.Design.

"Then they stopped it." An anonymous reader summarizes their report: Facebook -- as well as Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Apple -- said they were more interested in AI's that could talk to humans. But when two of Facebook's AI bots negotiated with each other "There was no reward to sticking to English language," says Dhruv Batra, visiting research scientist from Georgia Tech at Facebook AI Research (FAIR). Co.Design writes that the AI software simply, "learned, and evolved," adding that the creation of new languages is a phenomenon Facebook "has observed again, and again, and again". And this, of course, is problematic.

"Should we allow AI to evolve its dialects for specific tasks that involve speaking to other AIs? To essentially gossip out of our earshot? Maybe; it offers us the possibility of a more interoperable world, a more perfect place where iPhones talk to refrigerators that talk to your car without a second thought. The tradeoff is that we, as humanity, would have no clue what those machines were actually saying to one another."

One of the researchers believes that that's definitely going in the wrong direction. "We already don't generally understand how complex AIs think because we can't really see inside their thought process. Adding AI-to-AI conversations to this scenario would only make that problem worse."

Yielding

Yielding to the Spirit of God- Is Best

We as believers have got to understand the importance of yielding our minds to the will of God, both in terms of allowing Him to use us as He wills, and of simple obedience to the Lord on a day-to-day basis.

Now, I'm not referring to any sort of legalism here- I've both seen, and been a victim of that for so many years that I get sick to my stomach at the mere thought of it.....

What I DO want to deal with here is our daily walk with Christ- in the power of the Holy Spirit. If we have problems in this area, it will be difficult to yield our members to Him in order to be used of Him in any significant way.

Read the 119th psalm. David is so desirous of fully following the law of God- verses 35 through 37 read, "MAKE me to go in the path of Thy commandments; for therin do I delight. INCLINE my heart unto Thy testamonies, and NOT to covetousness. TURN AWAY mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken Thou me in Thy way."

David both craves the Presence and the law of God, and knows just how prone he is, left to his own devices, to wander from the God he so dearly loves.Re-read those words, "MAKE, INCLINE, TURN AWAY"...He is asking- beseeching the Lord to cause him to look to Him, for he knows what a rascal he is in the flesh, despite God referring to him as "a man after Mine own heart".

This is something we must all learn, if we wish to be used of God- our utter helplesness, and the Lord's all-sufficiency.

Years ago, Phil Keaggy wrote and sang a song-( I don't remember the title, but) it contained the words, "I never had a selfless thought since I was born." When I first heard those lyrics, I thought to myself, "Finally- here's a believer that I can relate to, someone who knows the kind of struggles I go through!" .....
.
Realizing the importance of looking to Him, and not ourselves, on a daily basis, is so important because we tend, as David knew, to go our own way.

When we follow OUR will, we quickly get into trouble because we're naturally attracted to the things of the world (the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life), and its pull is far too powerful for any person to resist.

God knows that our ONLY hope is trusting and depending upon Him, and that's what obedience to Him is. Once we begin to understand and walk in that truth, God can freely use us by His Spirit as He wills, and isn't that what we all desire in our heart of hearts? May He bring us all to that place!

God bless you.

Happy 4th!

My ancestors fought for my country of my birth America.

When you become a citizen of America you become an American!

The first battle of the Revolutionary War, fought in Massachusetts on April 19, 1775.

British troops had moved from Boston toward Lexington and Concord to seize the colonists' military supplies and arrest revolutionaries.

In Concord, advancing British troops met resistance from the Minutemen, and American volunteers
harassed the retreating British troops along the Concord-Lexington Road. Paul Revere, on his famous ride, had first alerted the Americans to the British movement.

My own family was there and we fought for our country!

Beyond a doubt we Sloanes are descended from patriots that marched on the alarm of 1775.

From the archives:

 MASSACHUSETTS

Soldiers and Sailors of the Revolutionary War. The sons', of David Slone b. abt. 1700, of Dorchesterand John Slone Jr., a grandson of David of Dorchester, all served in the Revolutionary War.

Anyone tracing their lineage back to these patriots would prove SAR/DAR eligibility.

I trace back to David of Dorchester (John, Timothy, Charles) can also prove eligibility through  (Molly) Mary Polly Silvester (wife of Timothy) who was a daughter of Philip Silvester son of Benjamin Silvester.

I am also traced back to the Mayflower Pilgrims.

So is it any wonder that I am so passionate about America?

That I am so concerned with the things that go on in America?

My family has lived here from the beginning of this great nation and has fought for her freedom always.

And the list goes on and on...

 this is my country!

So when I do research and see what is going on in my country I get concerned as do many others.

I am a voice that started a long time ago in America.

There is a family heritage that belongs to me.

I believe that as a family member of the founding fathers of this great nation my prayers and conversation with God over America have some value.

If the patriarch Abraham had a headstone, it probably would have read:

“Abraham – The Father of Faith:

All the nations of the earth are blessed because of you.”

Abraham’s son Isaac desired to follow in the heritage of his father’s faith, being challenged by God not to trust in his own initiatives but in God’s unending promises.
One of the great truths God teaches all believers is wherever He leads, He will also provide.

This principle has been proven many times throughout Old Testament history.

We see this when Moses led the Israelite's out of Egypt.

God took more than three million people into a barren wilderness and there supplied them with an abundance of water and manna from heaven.

In order for Isaac to know the blessing of God’s provision, God used King Abimelech to redirect him back to the old wells of Abraham.

“And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them”
(Genesis 26:18).

When Isaac arrived at the place where the wells had been dug, he found the Philistines had been in the area and had filled them with dirt.

Although the outlook of his immediate security was extremely bleak, God would use these unfavorable circumstances to speak to Isaac.

In a land where water is always at a premium, you would have to ask yourself, “Who would be crazy enough to fill wells with dirt when there was such a scarcity of water?

Why would they do that when there could have been enough for everyone?”

But this is a picture of a darker and more subtle attack of Satan.

This is what the devil wants to do in the life of the believer; he wants to stop the flow of water until nothing is left.

Then he covers over the places where others once found their strength and sustenance in God.

This makes it almost impossible for those coming afterwards to know and understand how God had sustained them in difficult times.

For example, simply look at the thousands of monolithic cathedrals left to us today which dot the landscape with their peaked towers and crosses.

Architecturally these buildings are beautiful, but inside they have become empty relics of a past revival.

No longer do they brim with people or are filled with the praises of God; they only stand as stone edifices and outer shells called churches.

This is why God took Isaac back to the old wells and caused him to dig in the same places Abraham had dug. In his time of trial, Abraham went down deep into the bedrock and had found water to live by.

Here Isaac, representing the next generation, could also find the same source of strength his father had found.

If we want our lives to make a difference in our generation, I believe we have to go to the old wells of truth where others previously found their hope in God.

We must learn what it means again to trust completely in God’s direction. His ways are always right and though He does not expect us to always understand, He does expect us to believe Him and obey.
Isaac was in a dry and barren place, he needed to see God as the one who would take care of him.

So, he began to dig again the same wells of Abraham.

“And Isaac’s servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water” (Genesis 26:19).

In the Hebrew text, the Scriptures indicate that the words springing water here literally mean alive or living water. God was providing life sustaining water for Isaac’s family, servants and herds.
Today, beloved, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is also our God, He is our Jehovah Jireh, He is our Rehoboth,( place for us), and the kingdom of His Son, Jesus Christ, rules and reigns in our lives. Praise God!

The Constitution and the Bill of Rights are the wells of my fathers.

Today there are those who desire to fill those same wells...they want to block them up with dirt.
In the life of the Christian the devil does not want you to find living water, so he will immediately attempt to stop its flow by bringing you into contention with someone.

James, the Lord’s half brother, wrote about strife, saying, “For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work” (James 3:16).

James understood that when the door of contention is opened, it will lead to hurtful and destructive conditions.

In Isaac’s situation this was proven to be true, for when they attempted to dig another well, even greater strife arose.
Today we are seeing strife.

There is a battle in America.

There is room for all people at the cross no matter color, what age, race, or nationality.

And when you become His child, He enlarges your heart to love all of His people even those who have wounded you.

He will make enough room in your heart to overlook the willful and hurtful transgressions of others.

Whereas, you could not do this before you came to Christ.

In the gospel of John chapter four, Jesus gives us this same principle by loving and forgiving someone who would be considered as an outsider or even as an enemy.

When He came to Jacob’s Well in Samaria, Jesus sat down and asked a woman of religious and cultural mixture for a drink.

If a Jew, other than Christ had met that woman at the well, she would have been ignored and shunned because of her background, let alone her gender.

Jesus did not allow anything to alter his deliberate treatment of her as being someone created and loved by God.

That day she was given living water from God Himself.

If you want to continue to experience the same fullness as the woman at the well, you have to start by forgiving those the world says should be your enemy.

You offer love and forgiveness, whether it is accepted or not.

The moment you do, it will be as though you have dug out all the dirt from the old wells of Abraham, and living water will begin to flow again.

Just think of the impact you would have in the workplace if you forgive a co-worker who had wounded you.

Think how everyone on the job would marvel that you would actually reach out to this hurtful person and offer friendship to them again.
The sonnet on a plaque inside the pedestal that the statue of Liberty stands reads:
“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”
The only Statue of Liberty inscription can be found on the tablet in her left hand, which says JULY IV MDCCLXXVI (July 4, 1776), the day the United States adopted the Declaration of Independence.
America is independent.

America is free.

Let us keep it that way.

You can be a Christian in America openly.

We can serve our Lord freely in America, let's keep it that way!

While we have poor choices for leadership here on earth, we still bow down before the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Our soon coming King.

Jesus Christ master and creator of the universe.

Perhaps you have recently seen this flag?

Meaning of the Thin Blue Line Flag:

The Blue represents the officer and the courage they find deep inside when faced with insurmountable odds.

The Black background was designed as a constant reminder of our fallen brother and sister officers.

The Line is what police officers protect, the barrier between anarchy and a civilized society, between order and chaos, between respect for decency and lawlessness.

Together they symbolize the camaraderie law enforcement officers all share, a brotherhood like none other.

Question: Can you loose your salvation.

If the man remains under his umbrella the rain can't get him wet.

If he walks out from under his umbrella he gets wet.

The question is can the Christian loose his faith and start living a worldly carnal existence and still be saved?

Once a person is saved are they always saved?

When people come to know Christ as their Savior, they are brought into a relationship with God that guarantees their salvation as eternally secure. Numerous passages of Scripture declare this fact.

A Christian is a person who has fully trusted in Jesus Christ as the only Savior and therefore possesses the Holy Spirit (John 3:16; Acts 16:31; Ephesians 2:8–9).

The Bible declares that a true Christian will not live a state of continual, unrepentant sin (1 John 3:6).

The Bible also says that anyone who departs the faith is demonstrating that he was never truly a Christian (1 John 2:19).

He may have been religious, he may have put on a good show, but he was never born again by the power of God. “By their fruit you will recognize them” (Matthew 7:16).

The redeemed of God belong “to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God” (Romans 7:4).

If you are not living a Christian life and have no qualms about it, I would seriously question if you are actually born again.

Nothing can separate a child of God from the Father’s love (Romans 8:38–39).

Nothing can remove a Christian from God’s hand (John 10:28–29).

God guarantees eternal life and maintains the salvation He has given us.

The Good Shepherd searches for the lost sheep, and, “when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home” (Luke 15:5–6).

The lamb is found, and the Shepherd gladly bears the burden; our Lord takes full responsibility for bringing the lost one safely home.

Jude 24–25 further emphasizes the goodness and faithfulness of our Savior: “To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.”

The Bible teaches that everyone who is born again by the power of the Holy Spirit is saved forever.

We receive the gift of eternal life (John 10:28), not temporary life. Someone who is born again (John 3:3) cannot be “unborn."

After being adopted into God’s family (Romans 8:15), we will not be kicked out. When God starts a work, He finishes it (Philippians 1:6). So, the child of God—the believer in Jesus Christ—is eternally secure in his salvation.

So if your living a life of sin and have no conviction about it, I would seriously question if you were actually a Christian.

Especially if you have been living like that for years.

However, the Bible also contains some strong warnings against apostasy.

These warnings have led some to doubt the doctrine of eternal security. After all, if we cannot lose our salvation, why are we warned against falling away from the Lord? This is a good question. First, we must understand what is meant by “apostasy.”

An apostate is someone who abandons his religious faith. It is clear from the Bible that apostates are people who made professions of faith in Jesus Christ but never genuinely received Him as Savior.

They were pretend believers.

Those who turn away from Christ never really trusted Him to begin with, as 1 John 2:19 says, “They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.”

Those who apostatize are simply demonstrating that they are not true believers, and they never were.

The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares (Matthew 13:24–30) provides a simple illustration of apostasy. In the same field were growing wheat and “false wheat” (tares or weeds).

At first, the difference between the two types of plants was undetectable, but as time went on, the weeds were seen for what they were.

In the same way, in any given church today, there may be true, born-again believers side by side with pretenders—those who enjoy the messages, the music, and the fellowship but have never repented of their sins and accepted Christ by faith.

To any human observer, the true believer and the pretender look identical. Only God can see the heart. Matthew 13:1–9 (the Parable of the Sower) is another illustration of apostasy in action.

The Bible’s warnings against apostasy exist because there are two types of religious people: believers and unbelievers.

In any church there are those who truly know Christ and those who are going through the motions.

Wearing the label “Christian” does not guarantee a change of heart.

It is possible to hear the Word, and even agree with its truth, without taking it to heart.

It is possible to attend church, serve in a ministry, and call yourself a Christian—and still be unsaved (Matthew 7:21–23). As the prophet said, “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me” (Isaiah 29:13; cf. Mark 7:6).

God warns the pretender who sits in the pew and hears the gospel Sunday after Sunday that he is playing with fire.

Eventually, a pretender will apostatize—he will “fall away” from the faith he once professed—if he does not repent. Like the tares among the wheat, his true nature will be made manifest.

The Bible’s warnings against apostasy is to equip the church to identify apostates. They can be known by their rejection of Christ, acceptance of heresy, and carnal nature (2 Peter 2:1–3).

The Bible is clear that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6).

The moment a person truly believes in Jesus Christ, he or she is saved and secure in that salvation. It is unbiblical to say that salvation is received by faith, but then has to be maintained by works.

The apostle Paul addresses this issue in Galatians 3:3 when he asks, "Are you so foolish?

After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort?"

If we are saved by faith, our salvation is also maintained and secured by faith.

We cannot earn our own salvation.

Therefore, neither can we earn the maintenance of our salvation. It is God who maintains our salvation (Jude 24).

It is God's hand that holds us firmly in His grasp (John 10:28-29).

It is God's love that nothing can separate us from (Romans 8:38-39).

If we are indeed a born again Christian.

Does this mean that a Christian can live any way he wants to and still be saved?

This is essentially a hypothetical question, because the Bible makes it clear that a true Christian will not live "any way he wants to." Christians are new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Christians demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), not the acts of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21).

First John 3:6-9 clearly states that a true Christian will not live in continual sin.

In response to the accusation that grace promotes sin, the apostle Paul declared, "What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?" (Romans 6:1-2).

How could anyone who understands God's unconditional and guaranteed love for those who believe, take that love and throw it back in God's face?

Such a person is demonstrating not that eternal security has given him a license to sin, but rather that he or she has not truly experienced salvation through Jesus Christ.

"No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him" (1 John 3:6).

Believers are born again (regenerated) when they believe (John 3:3; Titus 3:5).

For a Christian to lose his salvation, he would have to be un-regenerated.

The Bible gives no evidence that the new birth can be taken away.

So the true question is, "Am I a Christian, or am I not a Christian?"

Something that only you and God can accurately answer...

Need Expensive Dental Work? But Can't Afford It? Go To Mexico!

Dentistry has never gotten much respect in the United States, where oral health was long seen as a cosmetic luxury rather than a necessity.

Of course, that’s far from the truth — gum disease can cause serious complications with a host of life-threatening illnesses, and a rotten tooth can even kill you.

It wasn’t until the 1980s that dental insurance became a standard part of workers’ compensation and that American mouths started getting the care they needed.

Enter Molar City, the dental Shangri-la of the Mexican desert that’s doing what nobody in Washington has done: keeping American mouths healthy and happy at a fraction of the price.

Says Los Algodones Mayor Christian Camacho: “We’re helping the United States take care of the people they are not able to.”

The biggest draw?

“It’s the price,” Burks says. “It was gonna cost me $12,700 at home for three implants. And they found two root canals I needed, which would have been $1,600 for each root canal at home, plus the crowns.

“I got it all here for $4,200.”

We Could Have Had Cellphones Four Decades Earlier (reason.com)

Mystery solved. There actually were ATandT researchers who worked on cell phone technology years before they went to the FCC for available bandwidth.

Professor Thomas Hazlett of Clemson University analyzed the history of wireless spectrum and concluded the technology was known and available for cellphones in the 40s, but there was no spectrum available.Based on assumptions cellphones would always be luxury goods without mass appeal, significant spectrum for divisible cellular networks wasn't legally usable until the early 80s.
Instead, the unused spectrum was reserved for the future expansion of broadcast TV to channels 70-83.Here's an excerpt from the report: "When ATand;T wanted to start developing cellular in 1947, the FCC rejected the idea, believing that spectrum could be best used by other services that were not 'in the nature of convenience or luxury.' This view -- that this would be a niche service for a tiny user base -- persisted well into the 1980s.

'Land mobile,' the generic category that covered cellular, was far down on the FCC's list of priorities. In 1949, it was assigned just 4.7 percent of the spectrum in the relevant range. Broadcast TV was allotted 59.2 percent, and government uses got one-quarter."
First wireless cell phone, Motorola
"The brick" weighed 2 pounds, offered just a half-hour of talk time for every recharging and sold for $3,995. Clunky and overpriced?

Not in 1984, when consumers lined up in droves to buy the first cellular phone as soon as it hit the market.

And certainly not to Rudy Krolopp, lead designer of the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X. Krolopp, now 74 and retired, still gets a "warm fuzzy feeling" thinking about the DynaTAC and knowing that "a handful of us did something that was really significant."

This brick took over a decade to get to market.

Krolopp was assigned the project by Martin Cooper, who ran Motorola's research and development effort in wireless and was ultimately dubbed the father of the cell phone by then-CEO Robert Galvin.

Both Cooper's and Krolopp's names are on the original patent along with that of John Mitchell, former head of the company's communications division.

"Marty called me to his office one day in December 1972 and said, 'We've got to build a portable cell phone,'" Krolopp recalled. "And I said 'What the hell's a portable cell phone?'"

Talk about short talk time — Krolopp and his team were given six weeks to come up with a working model.
The urgency was because the Federal Communications Commission was deliberating over whether to allow AT&T to set up a network to provide wireless service in local markets, and the phone company itself was considering making wireless phones. Motorola didn't want to be shut out.

After the meeting with Cooper, Krolopp got together with his design staff and built a conceptual model.
"We sprung it on the engineers one day," he said, recalling their surprise at how small it was at the time. "There were only eight guys in the room. Cooper said 'Anybody who doesn't believe this can be done, leave the room.'"

No one did. But it was another 10 years and a total of $100 million in development costs before the phone was officially unveiled in 1983 — the delay resulting mostly from the need to build towers and infrastructure.

Krolopp says Motorola's new Razr is "really a cut above" anything that was done in the past but still represents only "the tip of the iceberg" of what phone designers will be able to do.

"Oh, would we have loved to do that back then," he said of the Razr's wafer-thin size.

"We had the capability to design it but we didn't have the capability to build it.

We couldn't get batteries down that small, couldn't get antennas that small, couldn't get key pads to work that way.

"Technology has changed so much."

A Musician From The Jesus People Days

You can really hear the difference between today's "Performance oriented musicians" and this fine example of a Jesus People musician.

If you have the time I suggest that you turn up your sound and sit back and get ministered to by the Holy Spirit. Something that a lot of today's Christian music can't usher in is the manifested presence of God.

Source: Independent

New international agreements should be introduced to regulate the internet in the light of the London Bridge terror attack, Theresa May has said.

The Prime Minister said introducing new rules for cyberspace would “deprive the extremists of their safe spaces online” and that technology firms were not currently doing enough.

The Prime Minister made the comments outside Downing Street on Sunday morning in the aftermath of the van and knife attack that saw seven people killed and dozens injured.

Just as Hollywood can make movies that seem "real" with all of the action and stunt people, so can false flag syops do the exact same things on our streets.

Some believe that in today's world we are all being emotionally manipulated into an end game for control of the earth's populations. The Bible does proclaim the the day is coming for a One World Government controlled by Satan.

Right now it seems that the powers that be want people to live in fear so that they will five up their freedoms.

Your here reading this now freely but in the near future it will not be possible.

Don't think so, wait and see...

A few links that suggest that somethings up.
