Hollywood Is Fighting Billionaire Sean Parker's Plan To Let You Rent Movies Still in Theaters For $50 (businessinsider.com)

Billionaire Sean Parker's plans to bring movies to your home as soon as they release in theaters has hit new roadblocks.

After receiving praises for "Screening Room" from directors and producers Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, J.J. Abrams, and Peter Jackson, as well as Hollywood studios, the buzz for the startup has started to wane.

From a report: Though Parker and cofounder Prem Akkaraju have promoted the company in the last two years at CinemaCon, it's gotten little traction due to a naivete of the industry, competitors, and studios' and theater chains' decade-long discussion about how to move forward on Premium VOD (PVOD) (alternative source), Business Insider has learned.

"Everything you've heard in the press about studios and theaters wanting to explore a PVOD window, nothing about that revolves around Screening Room," a source close to the talks told Business Insider.

Screening Room's main pitch to studios and exhibitors has been that it can bring added revenue to all sides of the equation. Out of the proposed $50 rental fee, 20% would go to the movie's distributor, and a participating theater chain would get up to $20 of the fee, plus each customer receives two tickets to see that rented title at their local theater. Screening Room would take 10% of each fee.

Sources told Business Insider that all of the bells and whistles Screening Room is selling don't matter until the studios and theaters can agree on a Premium VOD (or PVOD) window. Industry players don't want movies to be available on PVOD simultaneously with theatrical release dates because the first two weeks of a theatrical run are still when studios and exhibitors get a majority of a movie's income.

Sean Parker Is Going To Great Lengths To Ensure 'Screening Room' Is Piracy Free, Patents Reveal (torrentfreak.com)

Napster co-founder Sean Parker has been working on his new service called Screening Room, which when becomes reality, could allow people to watch the latest Hollywood blockbusters in their living room as soon as they premiere at the box office. This week we get a glimpse at the kind of technologies Parker is using to ensure that the movies don't get distributed easily

Here are just two publicly accessed roadblocks to this endeavor out of dozens that are easily found on the net:

 https://www.tvaddons.ag/freetelly-windows-kodi/

https://popcorntime-online.tv/

There is all-so the bittorrent sites.

So why even try to charge $50.00 a current screening movie when people obviously are using other means to access them.

One has to recall how TOWER RECORDS was the most successful record store on earth at one point. It went to their heads and they never imagined that they could fall off of their lofty pedestal.

"I don't like the title 'The Father of MP3,'" says Karlheinz Brandenburg. But he kinda is.

Then along come the likes of Shawn Fanning and Sean Parker who fathered the P2P fiel sharing service Napster.

All of a sudden people had free access to every kind of music file. For three glorious years users could check out each others music collections and aquire music for free from one another.

And then came along Best Buy who had lower price tags for music then Tower Records had. Tower was proud and refused to lower their prices. Sales dropped like a lead ballon and the banks called in their loans that fueled the expansion of Tower Records forcing the sale of their only profitable store in Japan.

They went out of business.

Draw your own conclusions...

From a report:

Over the past several weeks, Screening Room Media, Inc. has submitted no less than eight patent applications related to its plans, all with some sort of anti-piracy angle.

For example, a patent titled "Presenting Sonic Signals to Prevent Digital Content Misuse" describes a technology where acoustic signals are regularly sent to mobile devices, to confirm that the user is near the set-top box and is authorized to play the content.

Similarly, the "Monitoring Nearby Mobile Computing Devices to Prevent Digital Content Misuse" patent, describes a system that detects the number of mobile devices near the client-side device, to make sure that too many people aren't tuning in.

The general technology outlined in the patents also includes forensic watermarking and a "P2P polluter." The watermarking technology can be used to detect when pirated content spreads outside of the protected network onto the public Internet. "At this point, the member's movie accessing system will be shut off and quarantined.

If the abuse or illicit activity is confirmed, the member and the household will be banned from the content distribution network," the patent reads. [...] Screening Room's system also comes with a wide range of other anti-piracy scans built in. Among other things, it regularly scans the Wi-Fi network to see which devices are connected, and Bluetooth is used to check what other devices are near.

Cashless Society Embraced By Swedish Churches

Sweden was the first European country to introduce bank notes in 1661.

Now it's come farther than most on the path toward getting rid of them.
'I can't see why we should be printing bank notes at all anymore,' says Bjoern Ulvaeus, former member of 1970s pop group ABBA and a vocal proponent for a world without cash.

Day Of Pentecost Starts Tonight

At Sundown the feast of Pentecost begins. The power of the Holy Ghost came upon the upper room on this feast. At sundown today expect an increased awareness of the Holy Spirit in your life.

Not that you are not aware, but fan to a flame your awareness.

For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
2 Timothy 1:6

Why do I remind you?

Because it is possible to quench the Spirit of God in yourself.

Do not quench the Spirit.
1 Thessalonians 5:19

It is your human responsibility to fan to a flame the fire of God in you.

I want to invite all those in the Southern California area to a special meeting tonight. There will be worship, prayer and impartation.

 Location: Vineyard Community Church
27632 El Lazo Road

(We meet in the back of church - used to be the bookstore)

Laguna Niguel, CA. 92677.
Time: 7 pm - 9:30 pm.

All are welcome.

Humans Accidentally Made a Space Cocoon For Ourselves Out of Radio Waves (vice.com)

I am amused as I wonder to myself who at NASA makes up this stuff?

***
Humans have accidentally created a protective bubble around Earth by using very low frequency (VLF) radio transmissions to contact submarines in the ocean.

It sounds nuts, but according to recent research published in Space Science Reviews, underwater communication through VLF channels has an outer space dimension.

This video explainer, released by NASA on Wednesday, visualizes how radio waves wafting into space interact with the particles surrounding Earth, and influence their motion.

Satellites in certain high-altitude orbits, such as NASA's particle-watching Van Allen Probes, have observed these VLF ripples creating an 'impenetrable boundary,' a phrase coined by study co-author Dan Baker, director of the University of Colorado's Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics.

This doesn't mean impenetrable to spacecraft or asteroids, per se, but rather to potentially harmful particle showers created by turbulent space weather.

Watch

Thus says the Lord, "I will do a new thing."

On the day of Pentecost no one knew what to expect. They had no idea that tongues of fire would appear over their heads, and that a sound from heaven like a rushing mighty wind would fill the house where they were sitting.

A spiritual awakening is about to take place, but no one really knows how it will be.

Amos 3:7 indicates that revelation knowledge precedes any move of God’s Spirit. The early disciples knew to wait in Jerusalem. They knew when and where to be gathered and that they would receive power after the Holy Ghost came upon them, but they didn’t know how it would happen.

The Lord lets us know when He is about to do something mighty, but it’s always a wonder when He does. The mysterious ways of God are his to determine and his to reveal.

Modern day Christianity thinks they have it all worked out and that God must act accordingly. A new thing! It’s unlike any other manna that we have ever tasted before. My eyes are wide open in expectation. All we can do is yield, surrender and be pliable.
Rejoice and sing, be glad.

Even the softest pure heart is a heart of stone compared to what God desires to create within his church. The closer I come to him, the more I find that I know nothing. Nothing at all, as taught in Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."

A new thing is about to happen. It cannot be figured out. Greek words have no bearing on how it will happen or where it will happen. Doctrinal differences whether simple or complex will not detour it.

Mark 13:37, "And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch."

Stage 4 cancer cured with just honey and baking soda

Battling Cancer

Here is a story i came across unexpectedly today in Youtube.

David

********************************************

I learned in early September, 2014 that my 88 year old grandfather had stage 4 colon cancer.

He was being taken off chemo & sent home from the hospital to die with his family, about 400 miles away. He was given 3 days to live, this was day 1.

He lives in Thailand and my family lives in the US.

Day 2, the family in Thailand was gathered to say goodbye to my grandfather and my mother was called to also say goodbye to him. While on the phone, I blurted out something about the "Baking soda protocol".

I was skeptical but he was about to die anyway so why not. He was able to stay alive for another week or so; however, unconscious, unable to eat, unable to make bowel movements, he could not talk or walk, etc. He had massive organ failure and bowel movements required enemas.

My aunt had to help with his bowel movements and occasionally take him to the clinic to get a more proper enema. She noted the clots and flesh that was evacuated with the BM. She also described the smell, as if he was already dead. About a week in we finally got a few of our family members to understand the baking soda protocol and the ingredients. Two months in, my grandfather is awake, talking, making BMs in their own bathroom, cooking his own food and he walked a bit. He was taken to the local clinic about that time to get a check up, lol. A check up, this man was suppose to be dead. I told my mom to tell her sister, in Thailand, to NOT say anything to the doctor. All the videos I watched about the protocol said that doctors were very aggressive in steering patients away from the protocol, even telling them they will die from ingesting baking soda. Too late. My grandfather was asked what he was doing to make himself better and he told them. Baking soda. They tell him to stop immediately because baking soda will make him sick. The doctors prefer chemo to make their patients sick over baking soda, the irony. Anyway, he told them to f--k off. Literally. By January of 2015, my grandfather was a bit of a celebrity around the town he was staying. He was repairing my aunt's cement wall. He was, and is still, riding a bike around town. A man that had stage 4 colon cancer, riding a bike. He told his friends his grandson sent him magic medicine, to explain his recovery. About that time, he returned to the oncologist 400 miles away. He stepped to the doctors desk, my aunt described the doctors face as if he seen a ghost, my grandfather tossed a bag on the desk with baking soda and honey inside. He yelled at the doctor, accusing him of trying to kill him with chemo.

The doctor asked how he was able to cure himself and my grandfather says he has an American grandson who is a doctor, who sent him some new type of cancer drug.
My grandfather then goes around the ward he was being treated in, he tells all his old friends to get out of the hospital because they are trying to kill them. Cops are called. He was in such a bad state when he initially left the hospital that 5-6 of the other patients immediately left with him. The ones who did not, he left bags of baking soda and honey with them. The cops throw him out of the hospital. About 2 months later, he visited the clinic for a check up (colonoscopy). He was instructed to return in a year or so. The cancer was too insignificant to note. I tried to get more information, at that point, but communication was difficult. My aunt just kept repeating that the cancer was completely gone. The only real set back, came from when he'd go back home to his wife. Most of the time he stayed with my aunt who took care of him and made sure he took the baking soda.

When he felt better he'd go home to his wife, who, did not take very good care of him, for whatever reason. Usually he'd spend 2 weeks with his wife, during which, he did not take any baking soda. He'd get sick, feverish, etc. Immediately taken home and put back on baking soda, where he'd recover.

Present day. He's still riding his bike and only dealing normal 88 year old aches & pains. The end.

Note: I am a real person, I'm a tattoo artist & I make gaming videos.

I say this because I had watched so many "cancer cure" videos out of curiosity and I was a bit pessimistic about the sincerity of the persons who made the videos and/or the commentators of the videos.

Well, if anyone out there in youtube-land are still on the fence about the validity of the baking soda protocol or myself, I'd be willing to chat with you. I see so many facebook "share" threads or "donation" threads to support cancer treatment, primarily the ones that show some poor bald kid, who most likely can be cured with just a few weeks of baking soda. Please, pass on this story and if any of you need more convincing or if you know anyone who needs more convincing, just simply message me.

Thanks.

Apple Has a Record $250 Billion In Cash, 90% of It Is Banked Overseas (phonearena.com)

Apple headquarters

On Tuesday, Apple is expected to report its fiscal second quarter earnings.

In that report, the tech titan will reportedly announce that it is holding $250 billion in cash

If you think that this is a lot of money, you're absolutely right. According to Marketwatch.com, this is more than the foreign currency reserves held by the U.K. and Canada combined.

Looking at it another way, at current valuations Apple could purchase all of the outstanding shares of Walmart and Procter & Gamble and still have money left over.

It has taken Apple only 4 and half years to double its cash hoard. During the fiscal first quarter of 2017, Apple was adding $3.6 million to its cash position every hour.

It finished the quarter ending in December with $246.09 billion in cash.

90% of the money is banked overseas, which means that Apple would be one of the companies to benefit the most from President Trump's plan to offer a one time tax break on repatriated funds.

You will watch this, everyone does

What Is the 'Special Appeal' of Apple Products?

As someone who comes from MS-DOS/Windows PCs background, I've never quite understood the appeal of Apple's products.

I don't think Apple's products are terrible or anything, but I just fail to see what is so special and different about Apple's electronics that many Apple users would never dream of switching to a non-Apple product.

Where does the 'special appeal' of Apple products reside?

And why are Apple users so very loyal to Apple products, even though with Apple's pricing policy, you rarely get the best bang-for-the-buck in a product?
