Jim and Tammy Baker were called of God to bless the body of Christ with PTL and a beautiful Christian resort called Heritage USA. The Christian theme park had been developing in the dream stage from his youth. God planted a visionary seed within a young man that one day became a reality.
Unfortunately he fell for the accountability doctrine that led to giving up the power of control that God had given to him. It was given to him and not another. Similarly, when Lonnie Frisbee surrendered the power that God had given him to the Shepherding Movement in 1972 he traded power for accountability. The Shepherding movement of the 70’s was replaced in the 80’s with what was called the Covering doctrine. In the 90’s it came to be known as accountability. Satan had one goal in mind, ‘rob the power’.
X church affiliates are famous for attempting to ruin a ministry on their way out (to take over or leave it torn with a loud voice of slander). Mark 1:26 "And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him." It is wise to protect your ministry from those who would if they could, ruin you.
Kenneth Copeland, Gene Scott, Benny Hinn, Chuck Smith and many other high profile ministries are wise to this. They have rat proofed there ministries in recent years to the point that you would almost have to kill them to remove them. I think it’s wise.
