Got the upper respiratory infection or the flu? This oftentimes helps. Garlic cloves are used as a remedy for infections (especially chest problems), digestive disorders, and fungal infections. Garlic can be used as a disinfectant because of its bacteriostatic and bacteriocidal properties. Some early evidence suggests garlic may help prevent colds. In one
study, people took either garlic supplements or placebo for 12 weeks
during "cold season" between November and February. Those who took
garlic had fewer colds than those who took placebo. Plus, when they did
get a cold, the people taking garlic saw their symptoms go away faster
than those who took placebo.

The sleet and snow that fell on January 15 2013 in White County Arkansas
was not normal. Background levels in this area are 35cpm. The sleet and
snow was showing an alert level above 100cpm. The high levels only
lasted about 24 hours indicating a short half life of the hot particles.
This kind of exposure can reduce the immune system and may be the cause
for recent spikes in flu and illness in this area and others. We can
only assume because the event was short lived is why they are not
warning parents to keep there children out of this unsafe wintery mix.
Not creating panic or concern seems to be more important than public
safety. Why warn parents exposure to the snow and sleet is equal to
flying at 30000 feet or exposure levels for nuclear plant workers right?

“He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.” -Isaiah 53:3-4
