Way back in the early seventies I would call a friend in Sweden and talk with her for just a few minutes and the phone bill would be outrageous. The connection would be low quality and I had no visual. Skype is one of the modern marvels of my old age when I recall how expensive long distance calls were and how bad the connections were. Skype is crystal clear visuals and pristine audio.
