"The European Parliament has voted to suspend the sharing of financial data with the U.S., following allegations that citizens' data was spied on....The European Parliament voted to suspend its Terrorist Finance Tracking Program (TFTP) agreement with the US, in response to the alleged tapping of EU citizens' bank data held by the Belgian company SWIFT. The agreement granted the U.S. authorities access to bank data for terror-related investigations but leaked documents made public by whistleblower Edward Snowden allege that the global bank transfer network was the target of wider U.S. surveillance."
Everyone it seems is nosing around in our business..."After firmly denying that it used software on its rent-to-own computers to spy on customers, including capturing passwords, sensitive financial information and images of private intimate moments, Atlanta-based Aaron's has owned up to the practice in a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission."
Ok, so it is the summer of 1972, Michael McDonald takes me into his family kitchen and shows me something futuristic. He takes a coffee cup and puts cold tap water into it and then puts it into a square box and pushes a few buttons. In a few minutes he opens the door and takes out the coffee cup which is now steaming with hot water. Of course I am like, "Dude! how did you do that!"Well now it can be done in reverse, that's right, reverse. Put a coffee cup of hot water in and out comes a cold coffee cup of water in minutes!Microwaves are handy little units when we want to heat food or drinks up quickly. However, .never before has there been a gadget that does just the opposite — cooling without the long wait. That is until now!
What in the world have we allowed to happen...Filmed spraying a row of seated protesters, John Pike filed a lawsuit claiming anxiety and depression after video outrage. In a darkly ironic twist, he was paid out more in compensation than the students he injured.
The best October Costume...
My son and I used to go to a bluff above Newport Beach back in the 80's with a BB gun and shoot at anything we wanted to, tin cans, an old farm plow abandoned in the field, without being harassed by the police. Today it is not at all possible. A 13-year-old boy walks near his home with a toy rifle. Two sheriff's deputies roll up behind him in a squad car, spot the authentic-looking gun and confront him. As the boy turns, one of the officers fires several rounds, killing the boy. Welcome to 2013!
