Really? A tunnel between Russia and America?

From Russia To USA

"In what could easily be one of the boldest infrastructure developments ever announced, the Russian Government has given the go-ahead to build a transcontinental railway linking Siberia with North America.

The massive undertaking would traverse the Bering Strait with the world's longest tunnel – a project twice the length of the Chunnel between England and France.

The project aims to feed North America with raw goods from the Siberian interior and beyond, but it could also provide a key link to developing a robust renewable energy transmission corridor that feeds wind and tidal power across vast distances while linking a railway network across 3/4 of the Northern Hemisphere."

A Man Walks To Russia From USA

Yes, this actually happened!
Polar bears do it all the time.
He is walking in unbroken step around the entire globe.
It is possible to journey by foot from the southern most point of South America back to England and leave behind you an unbroken trail of footprints!

It will take over fourteen years to complete, It will cover over 36,000 Miles.
It will test one man's ability to go it alone and walk around the world, in one non-stop journey.
It is under way now and will provide one of the most interesting and captivating stories to be told.

Karl Bushby, a 38-year-old ex-paratrooper, is chasing that very dream to become the first person to complete an unbroken round the world walk.

He set off on 1st November 1998, he has completed over 17000 miles.
With over 19000 more miles to walk, maintaining his current speed, he should return home to Hull in 2012.
All the adventures, trials, tribulations and magical moments are illustrated in his personal journals.
Karl has already walked through South and Central America, North America and over the Bering Straits into Russia.
Remember how I told you about the dude who actually walked to Russia from the USA?
Well...soon you can drive instead of walk.
A billionaire will dig a 4 lane tunnel linking Russia & US.
Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has fuelled talk of a massive tunnel between Europe and America by forking out $160 million on the world’s largest drill.
The 19-metre giant will be the first drill capable of boring a four-lane tunnel.

The project would link Russia’s far eastern Chutoka region, which Abramovich governs, with America’s Alaska.
