Come Closer Says The Lord Come Closer (Reissued because it is still totally relevant)

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.

I will be found by you,' declares the LORD, 'and I will restore your fortune...

Jeremiah 29:12-

There is No One Righteous
As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; There is no one who understands; no one who seeks God.

All have turned away; they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.…

Romans 3:10-

Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.

James 4:8

This message has been in my head for awhile, drifting around in there.

The determination to be right with God and to seek after Him is of our volition it would seem.

Volition or will is the cognitive process by which an individual decides on and commits to a particular course of action.

I won't get into the pedantic bantering of Calvinism vs  Arminius schools of thought here.

Classical Arminians agree with classical Calvinists that God’s grace, not human free will, is the ultimate ground and cause of salvation.

Do Arminians and Calvinists actually disagree as much as we think?

When we set our heart to be right with God and to seek after him, according to what the Scriptures indicate above, conditions are met that enable us to find God and He actually listens to us and restores.

Knowing this and actually participating in this is something that many of us struggle with in todays world.

Here we have, in America, two individuals striving to become the leader of our nation.

To anyone who has followed the lives of these two, it becomes painfully obvious that there is double standards and such in evidence.

Lies and half truths.

This is being modeled before us, and these are the two humans we have to pick between for our leader.

But what about us?

Are we any different?

Is our loyalty divided between God and the world?

Is it time for you and I to seek after God with all our hearts?

To come close to God and to wash our hands and purify our hearts as James tells us to do?

Today's election cycle has polarized many as evidenced by social sites and such on the internet.

James has said, "your loyalty is divided between God and the world."

It is indeed time to seek the Lord until He may be found.

To come into His sanctuary, the sanctuary of the most high living God!
