When i first posted this in 2011 only 4 people viewed it and no one has ever since. I think the title chased em off...

"Pastors Bible Reading Thought For Today"

In the early years, at the Bible Bookstore that we had near the Newport Beach pier in the late 60's, Greg Laurie was always getting revelations from the Word of God.

He would get so enthusiastic and want to share what he was getting with anyone who would listen.

The Bible is very deep, and there is much revelation in it, it yields many treasures to us.

It seems inexhaustible. No human wisdom can probe deeply enough to really uncover its truths.

Doctrinal interpretation and the process of trying to discover its fine points by reason, by analysis, and by scholarship is no substitute for the deep dedication to the revelation from the Word that Greg Laurie was getting.

God can make revelation spring forth in your reading of the Word of God like fountains.

Unless the Word is revealed it remains concealed, no matter what human wisdom tries to do with it.

Anyone who has ever spent time under the pulpit of Pastor Chuck Smith knows how at times he looks up towards heaven quietly and suddenly cracks a beaming smile as he receives revelation from the Word.

That's how revelation is, it just comes to you from on high. You don't originate it you get it.

It is that which comes from above, it is heavenly.

Men of God bring down revelation, it is not worked up, they appropriate it.

And so can you. Revelation is not disseminated from God's people.

In every case the Kingdom of God comes progressively because God's people appropriate it over and over, bringing it down, bringing it down, bringing it down again and again...

The Kingdom of God must be brought down from above; we cannot generate it.

An earthly , devilish wisdom is generated below, but God's wisdom comes down (James 3:15).

We are drawn up by that which comes down to us as we abide in Him.

If we are risen with Christ, we set ourselves in the heavenly places. Christ prayed, "I will that they may be with Me where I am" ( John 17:24).

It means that we live on the same spiritual level, the same abiding place where He is.

We are drawn up and eventually we go to the many mansions that He has prepared for us.

Read your Bible today and expect to receive divine revelation from it.
