The Way Church Should Be Done

The mega-churches we see in the West are inclined to be shallow affairs for religious spectators.

No matter how humble the people think their beloved pastor is, he really isn't so humble in the average American Mega Church.

Deep in his heart he wanted to be up front of the people.

Hidden skillfully in his heart he wanted to be God's man of the hour.

Every one quietly assembled in front of him while he gets to be the only one talking.

In Jesus day the synagogue was men interacting with one another with no one being prominent in the conversation.

They would banter back and forth discussing matters.

And everyone would benefit from what each person could bring to the table of collective revelation.

Not so in the American Church system.

Often there is a single active person up front bringing what is often little more than a motivational speech bounced off a Bible verse or two.

This is the Nicolaitan spirit, (nico="conquer", laitan="laity", a hierarchical pyramid form and a system steeped in Egyptian gnosticism.

Jesus said that He hated it.

But in countries where Christians die for the faith they set up multi-layered ministry going all the way down to the children.

This is how a 33 year old Indonesian youngster now has a mega-church of 30,000, most of them under 30.

This is the Biblical correct pattern we saw in the early church and before the Western Church became compromised at the council of Nicaea in 325 A.D..
