Costa Mesa California Donald Trump Visit

My once very small southern California farm town has grown up to the point that a presidential

wannabe has made a stump stop here.

Being not a political type for the most part I had no interest in the matter as such.

But while viewing my local evening news I was shown a group of people milling around and damaging a police vehicle.

My first thought was that it might be Mexicans who were opposed to the views of Mr. presidential wannabe.

After an air shot of the out of control crowd the cam view switched to a ground view and there were several in the out of control crowd wrapped in the flag of Mexico and others were waving smaller versions of the same.

My thought was that their actions would only fuel the flames of polarization against themselves as

being a lawless bunch of people who are not supposed to be here as has been suggested by Mr. presidential wannabe.

It is most interesting when the world's issues show up at one's doorstep.

I strongly suspect there were provocateurs peppered among the crowd who enticed the crowd to civil disobedience.  

"Police clashed with hundreds of protesters outside Donald Trump's rally in Southern California on Thursday night.

At least one police car was smashed up as hundreds of demonstrators – many of them waving Mexican flags – took to the streets outside the Pacific Amphitheater in Costa Mesa, Orange County where Trump was speaking.

The protesters flooded the street outside the amphitheater with some stomping on cars, hurling rocks at motorists and forcefully declaring their opposition to Trump - bringing traffic to a halt and creating a tense standoff with authorities.

One Trump supporter was pictured with a bloody face after clashing with the anti-Trump activists, many of whom appeared to be young Hispanic people.

The violence in Southern California where Latinos make up a large segment of the population suggests Trump may face more of this in the days to come, as he campaigns ahead of the state’s June 7 primary. 

Trump currently leads Kasich and Cruz in the California polls, with an estimated 45.7 per cent of voters, according to Real Clear Politics."
