(A not so) Mysterious Red Mark Beneath Painting of Crucified Christ at Newport Church Leads Pastor to Speculate on Jesus' Presence

Mysterious red stain beneath painting of Jesus at St. John the Evangelist Church in Newport leads to speculation of holy presence in May 2015.
Recently a client had me clean off some red stains that were coming down from the old tabs that had been affixed to each corner at the back of her pictures.

Some kind of rubber like substance had deteriorated and was leaking down the wall. Leaving red stains under each picture.

These were very old pictures of an east coast family that has been in America since it's beginning.

And that is why they had some kind of old tabs on the back that were way beyond their useful life.

Apparently the same kind of tabs must be on the back side of a picture of Jesus in Newport Rhode Island where my family once lived when I was a little boy.

They, being a church, are making much to do about it.

Kind of sad to see them being so ridiculous.

All they have to do is lift the picture off of it's hanger and see that there are those same leaky tabs on the backside of the picture.

The mark can be cleaned off with finger nail polish remover prior to repainting.

Here is the story.
