Here is an idea which is wonderful.
During my high school years I worked in high end restaurants in Newport Beach CA.
I got paid for working and I got to eat for free.
After closing time there always were a lot of really great foods that we would toss out as kitchen workers.
So myself and some friends who worked in other restaurants would take some of the food being thrown out by our particular restaurant at closing time.
The restaurants didn't care because it is typical for restaurants to toss out perfectly good unsold food in the dumpster on a daily basis.
After work my friends and I would all meet under a bridge that went over the entrance of a canal that opened up to the Newport Bay Turning Basin.
There was a perfect perch under the bridge where we set up all of the food and then we would have a big feast.
Expensive tender Teriyaki steaks, Artichokes, baked potatoes, salad, custom breads, awesome soups, seafood, cooked rice with vegetables.
Being young men and being always hungry we ate to our hearts content.
Well someone has come up with a capitol idea when it comes to the massive amount of food that gets tossed out every night in Restaurants.
Grocery food chains throw out a lot of perfectly good food also.
During the 60's the hippies all knew you could "dumpster dive" behind any grocery store and find a lot of good food to eat.
“Food waste just seems like one of the dumbest problems we have in this world.”
