This is a really deep topic and yet it is a very simple topic at one and the same time.

Today's lesson covers an area neglected by many.

 "Transference."

The teaching contained in this chapter should open up simple rudiments of the gospel to you in a way you have never seen.

It may make you feel more grateful to the Lord than you ever have before.

Transference is actually possible in both spiritual and mental realms. Science has done much research in this area.

An extract has been taken from the brains of rats and transplanted into the brains of other rats. Through this process, scientist have been able to transfer intelligence.

Researchers used a group of rats that had learned how to go through a maze after a long period of training.

Another group of rats that did not know how to go through the maze were injected with the substance from the brains of the educated rats.

The rats with the injection were then marked and turned loose in the maze.

The ones that did not have the injection stumbled about, unable to find their way.

It was found that the intelligence to master the maze had been imparted to the others, and they were able to complete it successfully.

Scientist are now predicting that the abilities and the wisdom and intelligence of a man ( perhaps a nuclear physicist or other scientist ) could be transferred to another person.

( Some of the ancient Greek philosophers and the Greek ruling class believed that it was possible to transfer the intelligence of learned men, the "erastes", through the act of sex with younger men, the "eromenos".

They believed that semen transferred intelligence from the older to the younger in these pederastic relationships.

An activity well illustrated on Athenian vases of the late sixth and early fifth centuries B.C.E. and portrayed in Plato’s dialogues as 'an experience sometimes heartbreaking...'

It should be noted here that all three of the greatest Greek philosophers, Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle, regarded homosexual conduct intrinsically immoral.

The day is coming in which those who have a college education will be able to transfer, by a simple injection, a great deal of their knowledge to another individual, even perhaps to someone who is somewhat challenged.

What hope this holds for mankind!

This should not amaze you. Transference is taking place continually.

No impartation can take  place without something being transferred from one person to another.

We cannot receive a deliverance unless something is taken from us. The Lord becomes the burden bearer and takes away our inquity.

We can receive nothing unless there is a transference. A thing must be taken from one person and given to another.

In science, there is no loss of matter if it is changed from a solid into a gas or a liquid. The entire substance is still retained; it is not annihilated, nor is it destroyed.

We are learning that all matter is filled with energy and all energy is filled with matter; there exists an interrelationship between the two.

This becomes quite disturbing to the minds of men. Knowing this, they begin to wonder if spiritual forces and powers exist that can be transferred into other things.

What God is telling us in Hebrews 11:3 becomes clear: "Through faith we understand that the worlds were created out of things that do not appear."

God can speak a word and the spiritual force and entity of that word from God can be transformed into a universe, God says, "Let there be light," and there is.

Transference, creation, impartation- what amazing things God is doing.

And He is doing them all with us, we who are endeavoring to walk with God during this transition- during the dying of one age and at the threshold of a whole new age.

We, who stand within the generation that will no doubt see Christ return and His Kingdom established upon the earth, are witnessing a release of tremendous blessings to a remnant that will be faithful, that will believe God and walk with Him.

Does transference really work? Can one thing be transferred to another?

Yes, it can, but sometimes to your own chagrin.

I was leaving the church one evening, greatly blessed after blessing so many people, and I shook hands with a person outside the building.

The devil oppression on him was so great that I had pains in my temples for some time afterward.

Christians who are not aware of spiritual things may seek to justify a ministry who is walking in hostility, and receive ministry from him, only to find themselves destroyed by it.

They do not understand the danger involved.
Many people are affected by these things, but they are often ignorant of the causes.

Mothers, fr instance, who find their children crying continually do not know that the little child may have been touched by a person who was oppressed.

( My friends and I call this "being slimed." We would say to one another, when this would happen, "Shake it off, windshield wiper it."  )

Transference occurs very quickly.

Most of you have experienced talking with someone who had a headache and after talking for awhile, you walk away and discover you have the headache.

You may not know how it happened, but something was transferred to you from that person. Christians need to have their guard up.

Those of you who do not believe in transference should remember the animals in the Old Testament that were prepared for sacrifice.

Priests would confess the people's sins over those animals and then kill them. This was not just symbolic of something that did not really work.

Sin actually was transferred to those animals. They died with the confessed sin upon them.

There occurred a transference of guilt from the sinner to the animal.

The book of Hebrews tells us that those sacrifices could not take away sin permanently, but needed to be repeated from time to time.

They worked only temporarily; however, Christ became the perfect sacrifice that made all the past sacrifices valid and made all of our trust in Him since the cross valid also.

The principle of transference, then, is the entire basis of the gospel, Isaiah 53, a prophecy of the coming Messiah, according to Matthew 8:17, makes very clear the purpose of transference in our relationship to Christ.

Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to hois own way; and Jehovah hath laid on him the inquity of us all.
 Isaiah 53:4-6.

The Heavenly Father did something so astonishing that if any man will believe it and accept it, it will become a reality in his life.

If you will believe that God laid upon Jesus Christ the iniquity of us all, every bit of it, and you accept that, then all the guilt and penalty of your sin is taken away.

What an amazing thing!

The whole principle of the gospel is based upon the fact that there was and can be a transference, that the Lord laid upon Him the iniquity of us all.

The chapter ends with this phrase, "He bare the sin of many." It was laid upon Him. He died upon the cross for that one purpose.

How can we, as believers, apply this to our lives in a practical manner?

The following Scriptures speak first of Christ and what He did, then how we as believers may partake of it.

 Hebrews 9:28King James Version (KJV)
28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

He was offered to bear the sins of many.

1 Peter 2:24King James Version (KJV)
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

He bore our sins. This He did for us.

Casting all your anxiety (all your cares) upon Him, because He careth for you. I Peter 5:7.

Understand what takes place. If you are filled with cares, pressures, sickness, or anything of that nature, what can you do with it?

First, cast it upon the lord so that He can carry it; then you appropriate a deliverance.

You do the actual transferring, but He offers to bear it; He offers to take it.

He is saying, "Let go of it. Let me have it. I do not want you to bear your cares. I love you. I care for you. Cast your cares upon Me."

Transference becomes a tremendous factor in the life of any believer who wants to walk delivered and free and strong.

He must learn how to cast his cares and his need upon the Lord so that the Lord can sustain him. This is something we should never forget.

We see also, according to the same principle, that it is possible for a believer to carry another believer's burden.

Through transference we can actually see another person's need, and carry that need ourselves.

This is not only possible, but it becomes the key by which babes in Christ survive. They would never survive if there were not more mature believers willing to carry their burden.

You are not to carry it permanently ( this can become a harassment of the devil ); you are to take it for only one purpose- to cast it upon the Lord.

You do not want to bog yourself down with someone else's problem, but you can constantly carry his need.

Thought this may sound highly theoretical and mystical in overtones, I am positive that it is a very practical function of Christianity.

I believe that I can bear the burdens of another person.

I am constantly making bonds between my spirit and every man that I lay hands upon because I know that there will be a time when that individual will be going through rough waters, beyond what he can handle, and then I will be able to be a strength and a help to him.

All spiritually developed believers are desirous of doing that very thing.

Now we that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

Let each one of us please his neighbor for that which is good, unto edifying.

For Christ also pleased not Himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell upon Me.
Romans 15:1-3

Christ did not please Himself, but He took upon Himself the reproaches of others. So also the strong Christian is to bear the infirmities of the weak.

If you are a weak Christian, one who has been carrying a pattern of defeat throughout your entire life, look to a good spiritual Christian and ask, "Can you help bear my burdens? Could you hold me up in prayer? Cold there be a transference?"

It seems to be a spiritual law that you cannot always shake loose a hinderance from yourself, but someone else can pry it loose from you much easier.

Once an oppression is transferred from one person to another, it becomes so weak that it can hardly be distinguished, yet a blessing that is sent from one person to another will retain its strength.

A problem or a care that you take from another person will never affect you as much as it affects the person from whom you take it.

After transference, it is diminished in its force and then it can be dissipated easily.

In my past years of ministry, I have lost faith in a great deal of prayer. I have learned that most Christian prayer has become like a shotgun: if you keep waving it around and shooting, you are going to hit something.

Christians reach the place where they do not take too seriously intercession and prayer because they do not have enough prayers answered.

Prayer is not a matter of standing and asking God to do something; prayer is going personally into the presence of the Lord and getting His ok or His direction.

You obtain His guidance, draw His strength, and then proceed to accomplish it. You become the delivery boy who is personally delivering the answer.

What is real ministry? Did Jesus encourage the disciples in this manner?

"Now, you go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Very carefully pray for all the sick and tell them to get well."

That was not the way Jesus sent them out. According to the book of Acts, they did not simply pray for the sick; they said, "Get up and walk, brother," and it happened.

The disciples were men of prayer!

They even refused to wait on the widows because they wanted to give themselves to prayer and waiting on the Lord.

When they saw someone who had a need, they walked over and said, "Get up; you are well," and that did it.

They healed him because they knew the lord. To them prayer was a great deal more then begging God to do something; it was drawing from the Lord and then setting about to do it.

Signs and wonders were done in a mighty way.

While coming and going to prayer meetings, Peter's shadow fell on the sick, and they were healed. We are learning the keys and the secrets of these amazing principles of transference and prayer that we see in the Word of God.

The strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not please themselves ( Romans 15:1 ) .

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:2

Many of our own problems would disappear if we could just learn to bear one another's burdens. This is an important part of the principle of transference.

Another outstanding Scripture concerning transference is in Acts, chapter 20.

The apostle Paul, on his way to Jerusalem, met with the elders of the church at Ephesus and ministered to them at a certain place.

Acts 20:17King James Version (KJV) 17 And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.

There was something in the message he gave to those elders that we must understand.

 Acts 20:35King James Version (KJV)
35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support (help) the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Paul taught the elders how to help and support the weak and how to carry them. That is exactly what elders come forth to do; they are to be like shepherds.

The shepherd will pick up the tired little lamb and carry it. The big sheep can walk by themselves, but the little lambs, the wounded and the lame, sometimes need some special help.

God is always faithful to bear the lambs in His arms; He carries them. There is a support that God can give to the weak.

How wonderful it is for a church to believe God to be the kind of people who can immediately relate themselves to everyone who comes to them, and to begin to carry their burdens and help them get on their feet.

A pastor receives the greatest help when the people hold him up before God and carry him before the Lord. That is transference.

Afterwards those people sometimes look as if they have been "through a meat grinder." It is not easy; yet God brings them through.

You are to travail for one another; you are to help one another. Proper use of transference becomes the answer for a great deal of our ministry.

Can one person take strength from another? Yes, there are vampires in the spirit realm- people who have no walk with God at all, but who sustain themselves completely by knowing how to draw from other people.

That is not healthy. Have you ever been around someone for a while and discovered that in a very unhealthy way, he seemed to drain you dry?

Transference works in an evil way as well as in a good way.

You have to learn that the force of power and anointing that God gives you should not be dissipated in a way that is bad.

It should be used to support the weak and to help one another.

If you do become drained, however, draw more from the Lord because He is unlimited in power. You can draw more blessings from Him at any time.

Many examples of evil transference could be given. Almost all of witchcraft is based upon principles of transference.

In a book written by a woman who claims to be a witch, she relates an experience she had as a child. She almost died of diptheria.

Her grandmother, who was a witch, took her pet owl and transferred the diptheria to the owl. The owl died, and the little girl became completely well.

Transference is very effective. It is not a great mystery that the devil can use it also.

In the Old Testament, men were always laying infirmities on animals. Jesus bore all our sicknesses and carried all of our sorrows.

All that Satan is trying to do is take a page out of God's book, but he even does a poor job of imitating. His work is always inferior.

Nevertheless, in the Word of God there are psychic and spiritual laws that Satan is aware of and which he tries to use.

In the same way, certain religions, without the Spirit of God, succeed because they have taken the principles of propagation and witness, following the exact scriptural principles relating to them.

Although these religions are way off, the principles seem to work.

For both a wicked man and a good man two times two equals four because it is a set law. God has set in motion certain principles that always work. Can Satan generate power?

Never!

All he can do is shift around the things that already exist. You get hit by forces that are already loosed, by things that are not as yet nailed down.

Satan may be throwing everything he can at you, but if you learn how to protect yourself in the areas of witchcraft and battle, you can come into a reversal of power that is quite effective.

I am of the opinion that one of the greatest things that could be done for our country ( America ) now is for a band of believers, with real perception, to be aware of the spiritual forces that are working in our elections.

They could bind the satanic forces that are trying to shift the outcome and they could direct the result right into the will of God.

There are many forces working against it, but I believe we can pray and believe to hold our country, in its democratic process, to God's will in the elections in a way that will open the door for God to move.

We should have faith for great things.

We should never see anything taking place in our country or in the world, without immediately seeking Gd and asking, "Is this Your will or are there maneuverings here?"

The children of God are to stand as instruments in the hand of God to see His will come forth in the earth.

The principle of ministry is becoming a reality, and there will be quite a number of people moving in the power of God in this age, and through them we will see great things happen.

What can be done by transference?

Can you pass off headaches? Yes, but do not pass them off to someone else; dissipate them to the Lord. Pass off your care to the Lord and He will take the burden.

When you take a burden from someone else, dispel it. Get rid of it immediately.

If there is a spiritual oppression coming against someone, take it away from him, and get rid of it.

Anything can be transferred. People do it in the occult world. I remember reading about one of the native priests in Hawaii who delighted in transferring the drunkenness from a drunkard who was staggering down the street to an Episcopalian priest, just to watch him fall in the gutter, drunk.

These things are being done.

We should believe to move into a new plane of ministry, and thereby come to a better understanding of the principles of transference.

We should know how a strong Christian can build his defenses.

In the New Testament churches that God is bringing forth in this hour, there is no reason why we could not have a people like ancient Israel- with not one feeble person in the tribe.

All should be standing tall and straight and moving on in God. Is there any reason why we should have young people come up to college age and then lose them?

Is there any reason why we should have young people of any age being given over to rebellion?

Why can't spiritual people just surround them and begin to draw away the rebellion that is being ministered? A spirit of rebellion exists in the public school system, and it s in these schools that many become infected with it.

We should be able to simply decontaminate them from the things they are picking up. We should have special meetings constantly to help them and minister to them.

We do not want casualties. We do not want any to fall by the wayside.

We must find how to take the oppression and the burden and cast it off on the Lord.

Be sure however, that you do not take oppression and then become rebellious with it yourself or find it affects you in any way. Always cast it upon the Lord.

If you forget, you will be reminded, and then you will be sorry because the longer you wait to get rid of it, the more it seems to set until it becomes difficult to jar it loose.

You should take it while it is in the mobile state and just cast it off onto the Lord. This can be a great help.

I believe you will remember this and you will actually learn how to carry burdens and help people.

More people will be walking with God because you believe that in the name of Jesus, you can follow in the footsteps of the Lord, that the strong bear the infirmities of the weak and so fulfill the Law of Christ.

The human spirit and the subconscious mind have a way of opening the door to the thing that your conscious mind fears.

When you have a fear consciously, it s because that fear is deep- rooted and you have opened the door to harassment.

A hypochondriac actually has all the symptoms of sickness because, in his fears, he is actually acquiring them.

Fear will open the door for things to be dumped on you in an amazing way.

Faith, the opposite of fear, will open the door for you to walk in immunity. Faith is like a protection round about us. Fear leaves us wide open.
Positive things can be transferred to you quite readily if you have faith.

If you would really believe, you could stand in a service, receive ministry, and completely appropriate it instantly.

Your faith reaches out and unites the word that is spoken right to yourself. It then becomes a part of your being.

Hebrews 4:2 states a negative example of this: ...the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard.

Faith draws the positive and fear draws the negative and opens up to it quite readily. The w=Word says, "Their fears came upon them" ( Isaiah 66:4 ); and that is a true principle.

No one can truthfully say that this teaching on transference is not scriptural or Christian.

The fact that the Lord laid on Him the iniquities of us all is about as Christian as you can get. It is the foundation of all the gospels.

What else can we believe, but that the Lord Jesus Christ is the bearer of our sins and burdens?

You may think that transference is just too spooky, but is it too spooky to believe that the strong are to bear the infirmities of the weak?

What do you want in a church- every man for himself and the devil take the hindermost?
He will do just that, if you take that attitude.

We need to say, "One body are we, and we all need to stick together."

When the strong hold on to the weak and help them, we have the real spirit of Christ.

People have believed these principles of transference in the past. Old Abraham laid his hands on his son, his son laid his hands on his son, and his son laid his hand on his sons, twelve of them.

All twelve sons received a blessing from Jacob, because he imparted it to them.

Impartation came by the laying on of hands and transference. The blessing that was resting upon one man was transferred to another.

Paul said the same thing about Timothy, "The things that you have seen and heard in me, this same commit to faithful men, who will be able to teach others" ( II Timothy 2:2 ) .

They believed in it with all of their hearts and they walked in it.

Only in the Western civilization, in recent centuries, have wee come to the place where we fail to believe in the great blessing of transference or impartation.

But we are believing them now because God is restoring the truth and the power of it.

If we continue in this with all of our hearts, our children can grow up with a great blessing upon them.

These are basic fundamentals, but we have added to them practical ways in which you can see them work in your life, ways of bringing forth fruit to the glory of God.

Many people could be helped if you could just take from them  the pressure and the tension, and minister to them.

They need not even know what you are doing, but they will be aware of the result, that they are being helped.
